Hi all. So one of my sites seems to have an algorithm penalty from the new Google Update.

I am not an SEO expert by any stretch, however, I've come to conclude that the content on my site must be what is getting my site penalized.

What tools can I use to audit the content of my site to see exactly which pages are problematic and which pages are not?

I have an E-commerce website with 150+ products, so perhaps some of the product descriptions are spun and of poor quality. There are also about 20-30 blog articles, some which are generated by AI with a human touch, some which are not.

I would appreciate any help.

There is no tool that will give you a 100% accurate answer on this one.

You have to play around and see, or, hire someone to do it for you.

In my opinion, it is still way too early to talk about what's working and what's not, in terms of, what should be fixed and what not [to be exact].

Try updating articles, one by one, editing them with some FAQ stuff, adding some images here and there, removing something, adding something, do some proper SEO on/off page, structure, etc.

Are there any reputable companies that do this on BHW? To the best of my knowledge, most SEOs on here are focused on links and don't seem to have a whole lot of knowledge when it comes to technical and on page SEO.

That is exactly why I said, it's too early for anyone to say "I know how to fix a website with penalty", there are things that can be done and I believe that they will give good results, but it all takes time.

I'm not sure, to be honest with you, we are all in some testing phase at this moment, people are testing 1000s of different approaches after the last big Google update and it will take some time until we get clear answers.

All this is new to everyone...

I mean, SEO has always been something that WE had to adapt to, but this is something new, and people need to figure out how in the long term we can generate AI articles and get positive results with both, ranking and traffic on Google.

Take a look around Marketplace, if you can't find anyone, try to Hire a Freelancer, just be very careful, choose wisely, and stay safe.

Use tools like Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, and Surfer SEO to audit and improve your content. You need to increase originality enhancing originality, value, and keyword relevance while fixing any technical SEO issues.

Screaming Frog is great for a comprehensive site audit, helping you spot duplicate content, broken links, and other issues. Ahrefs or Semrush are excellent for detailed content audits, highlighting low-quality or thin content. SurferSEO or Frase can help optimize your content based on top-ranking pages.

Norzer posts some of his SEO audits to youtube and gives away his free checklist which will help you diagnose what is going on. Here is a recent audit:
