Facing cache issue due to heavy size of HTML on webpage

Hi Guys,

Currently i am facing a issue where my website keywords ranking are decreasing day by day i audit my website and i found a issue where i get to know website has big size of html due to this google has stopped caching of my website. Html size of each page is approx 2.5mb. I know this will be the main issue for caching.

So My concern is that How can i resolve this problem? Please help to resolve this issue. I know there a plugin which is paid but i want to know is there any alternate for that plugin so that i can reduce my website html size.

Mostly like you will need to recode a lot of your website so find/hire a dev to do so.

WP Rocket is a great one stop shop but its a premium plugin. I'd run it through WebPageTest and look at the waterfall chart and see where things are slowing down.

Minify your HTML to remove unnecessary code. For WordPress, try Autoptimize—it's free and effective. Check for large inline scripts or styles you can move to external files.

Remove / replace the thing (Plugin, functions of theme...?) that creates so much HTML. Or split the content, if it is actual content, rather than (unnecessary ?) HTML, into several pages.

Is ist 2,5 MB after compression (Cache deflate or Nginx gzip)? If it is the size before compression then you should end up with about 0,5 MB of actual file size transferred over the wire, which is on the high end but still not excessive

You mean 2.5mb html? Or 2.5mb of total assets during the load? Obviously, they are different things.

If there’s too many assets blocking the page load, you will have get rid of them or load them after the page loads by deferring the load. There’s no “one” solution to this simply because every website is different. Try auditing your website in google page speed and trying to solve one problem at a time.


If your html itself is 2.5mb, consider rebuilding the website. 2.5mb of html per page is an insane amount. It should not exceed a few hundred kbs.
