Hey there.
I started a new website about 60 days ago. Niche is manga, before anyone asks there is no AI-generated article! Only manga descriptions are made using AI. (competitors only copy pasta each other description from where they scrape)
Impressions growth was doing pretty well. But suddenly it's dropped to about 2-3 impressions a day (50-60 before that). It's been 2 days since this happened.
Note that there is no penalty or notification. Pages are still indexed though.
Is this a behavior with G's sandbox, or HCU update doing something wrong?

Anyway this is weird and I cannot see the logic here.

Keep adding new posts. Get them indexed using gsc.
If they get indexed and don't rank then your domain got hit with March algo penalty.

Well. That's about uploading manga and new chapters, which I do daily.
Pages can still be found on Google. I tried to search multiple "domain.tld keyword(manga's name or manga + chapter number)" and get in top.
Every page index automatically, I don't need to add to GSC's indexer.

Domain is barely 2 months old, which is why I suspect this is some sandbox behavior. March rolling out update can also be on their sandbox module as well.
Does this really seem like HCU hit to you? I didn't find any competitor with penalty in this niche.

Yes, you are right the algorithms are under sandbox module this is usual for a new website moniter continuosly on your site performance and implement good SEO.

I think your website has been compromised. Please add high quality backlink sources

I'm thinking the same, this is most likely. I will wait a few days, and update you guys.

Sometimes fluctuations occur due to search engine sandboxing, but consistent efforts will help your site recover.

I wouldn't worry too much about a 60-day-old website. Google is still figuring out where to place your content in the SERPs, and the site doesn't have the age that makes it trustworthy in the eyes of Google. Statistical deviations are absolutely normal at that stage.

I had the same niche and was doing the same. Our niche was affected by Google march update and your website is hit a little late. Possible solution i found out is changing the domain and redirecting.

seeing some sandbox hit , it would be recover in few weeks .

It might take some time for the website to recover, in the mean time, publish quality contents, optimize your website and build links if possible

Yes, I keep posting new chapters. I'm thinking the same but we will see.

Well before March I wouldn't too. Time will tell!

Interesting. Do you use Madara too? How are core vitals?
I noticed one that we might say is intriguing: in GSC +100 URLs were listed with poor vitals, It now says there is no url with poor vitals. March was changing some parameters from Vitals. Could it be something like this? Note that I have made changes in the theme to optimize the cores, but this is not too crazy, though.
Do you have anything that changes from our competitors? Could this update target "clones" or very similar sites?

I will wait 1 month and see.

yup optimize might be hard but will keep up on few links.

Most things Google do these days is weird and without a rhyme or reason like firing all their Google News managers and their python engineers and fcking the algo beyond repair.

Yes, that changed the game completely. But I don't think they changed anything about the slow/bumpy start for new sites.
As I said above, they said something about updating several modules for their search engine, which is one of the reasons it took a month to deploy. This means those modules are split into several situations/steps.
It wouldn't seem crazy to me if they added something for new websites as well. AI sites are still growing crazy, thus striking "content for Google" in the early stage will be better.
What about link building for the site ?
I have a few guest posts and diversity links. Not a lot yet.
GSC displays a total of 33 links. I doubt this comes from link building.

hello i have software to automate update manga madara wordpress if you are interested you can pm me

It's unlikely that the Google Sandbox or HCU update is specifically targeting your site. These are more general filters that apply to new websites, and it's been 60 days since you launched.

Even though you aren't using AI-generated content for the core descriptions, it's still important to ensure your content is high-quality and engaging for users. My Suggestion will be regularly uploading the new content on the Website, You can done it by the posting Weekly On-page Blogs.

Well, everyone who thought a sandbox was wrong, this was indeed a penalty!
After a month, I decided to change the domain and set 301 redirects from all URLs to the new domain. Everything went well for a few days, and I was happy to recover and see the growth.
Then yesterday another penalty, hell noooo! The 301 redirects took juice from the existing backlinks as well. But some of those links were probably toxic, which was the principal reason for the penalty. Interesting thing to say, I bought all my links on BHW marketplace. When checked all links seemed fine but I might have missed one.

Morality of this story: if you aren't careful even the smallest toxic link can destroy your website nowadays. Deal carefully when you order something read reviews, and write reviews too so people don't get deceived and know what they order.
