Making money from websites is not my core business, so I need a couple of advices. I've got a informative site about one country in Souteast Asia. It took a few months to move from the bottom, now it started to move slowly, so I think I should do a next step. I am currently at 500-700 reach, 10-15 clicks a day. Obviously, it's not easy to rank, since it's a popular country for tourism.

What should I do first? What kind of guests posts, backlinks, how much in quantity?

Anything else, any tips from experienced people?

Thanks

Without looking into your website or any specific information, here are my suggestion:

  • Start Social Media Marketing on various channels - do it everyday
  • Content marketing on various blog sites
  • Focus on Travel Blog Sites or other Premium Sites (Travel/Entertainment Sections).
  • Focus on SEO & Keywords as per the needs of your customers - Is a part of brain storming.
Soon, you will see the difference in Traffic / Online Visibility.

Cheers,
Steve

Buy a good pbn from marketplace and check the reviews before choosing the provider.

thank you, i will do that and comnet later on

I would say use social media, specifically Facebook, IG and Twitter, and post every day and point them to your website. Also make sure to have new regular content on the website like a blog so that you have new content to drive traffic to your site. Make sure to focus on travel as a niche and not diverge from that.

Hello,
I have a travel site myself.
I simply hung out on Facebook.
Look for groups (I said groups, not pages) on the country in question.
Don't post your links right away, just answer people's questions, ending each answer with "you'll find more information here -> link to a page answering the question".
I've also looked at the PAAs (People Also Asked) in my area, and I've built articles that respond entirely to these PAAs.
Still on Facebook, I looked at all the questions: some come up all the time (which hotel, which car rental, etc.).
Based on these questions, I wrote other articles.
*Et voilà*
I've given up on other social networks.
Occasionally, I'll throw a few photos up on Instagram, but since I don't have any contests to offer or anything, the reach on the site is pretty poor.

You should probably research what travel ideas are actually trending
or going viral so you can write content similar to them.

i ask you know Who with the information provided and i get the following plan, to me make sense, i just need to follow

1. Facebook Group Engagement

Step 1: Identify Relevant Groups

  • Search and Join:Use Facebook search to find and join groups related to travel, specific countries, and travel deals.
    • Example Groups: "Travel Deals USA", "Europe Backpacking Tips", "Budget Travel Group"
Step 2: Engage Without Self-Promotion

  • Observation: Spend the first week observing the types of questions and interactions within the groups.
  • Engagement:Start by answering questions and engaging in discussions without posting links.
    • Example Response: "For budget-friendly accommodations in Paris, consider looking at hostels or Airbnb options. You'll often find better deals than hotels."
Step 3: Subtle Promotion

  • Link Inclusion:After establishing yourself in the group, start ending helpful answers with a link to relevant content on your website.
    • Example: "You can find a comprehensive guide to affordable hotels in Paris here -> [link]."

2. Content Marketing Based on PAAs and Facebook Questions

Step 1: Identify Common Questions

  • PAAs Research:Use tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush to find People Also Asked (PAA) questions related to travel deals and your target destinations.
    • Example PAA: "What is the cheapest way to travel to Europe?"
Step 2: Write Comprehensive Articles

  • Article Creation:Write detailed articles that answer these common questions.
    • Example Article: "The Ultimate Guide to Finding Cheap Flights to Europe"
  • Keyword Optimization: Ensure each article is optimized for the identified PAA keywords.
Step 3: Answering Common Facebook Questions

  • Content Ideation:Identify frequently asked questions in the Facebook groups.
    • Example Question: "What are the best car rental options in Italy?"
  • Article Writing:Write articles based on these questions.
    • Example Article: "Top 5 Car Rental Companies in Italy and How to Get the Best Deals"

3. Social Media Marketing (Selective Focus)

Step 1: Facebook Priority

  • Content Sharing: Share the newly created articles in relevant Facebook groups where appropriate.
  • Group Engagement: Continue to engage in groups regularly, providing value and subtly promoting your content.
Step 2: Instagram

  • Photo Posting: Post high-quality travel photos occasionally to maintain a presence.
  • Minimal Effort: Since Instagram is not a primary focus, do not invest significant time here unless you have engaging content to share.

4. SEO & Keywords

Step 1: Keyword Research

  • Tools: Use Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.
  • Identify Keywords: Focus on long-tail keywords related to travel deals.
Step 2: On-Page SEO

  • Meta Tags: Optimize meta titles, descriptions, and headers.
  • Content: Ensure your content is high-quality and includes target keywords.
  • Internal Linking: Link related articles within your website.
  • Images: Optimize images with alt tags and compress them.
Step 3: Technical SEO

  • Mobile Optimization: Ensure your website is mobile-friendly.
  • Site Speed: Improve site speed using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights.
  • XML Sitemap: Create and submit an XML sitemap to Google Search Console.
  • Broken Links: Use tools like Screaming Frog to find and fix broken links.

5. Link Building

Step 1: Guest Blogging

  • Identify Blogs: Find relevant travel blogs for guest posting.
  • Pitch Ideas: Send pitches with content ideas.
  • Submit Posts: Write and submit guest posts.
Step 2: Backlink Outreach

  • Find Opportunities: Identify websites that might link to your content.
  • Email Outreach: Send personalized emails requesting backlinks.
Step 3: Directory Listings

  • Research: Find relevant travel directories.
  • Submit Details: List your website in these directories.
Step 4: Social Bookmarking

  • Sites: Use sites like Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Digg.
  • Share Content: Share your blog posts and website pages.

6. Analytics & Adjustments

Step 1: Set Up Tools

  • Google Analytics: Set up and configure Google Analytics.
  • Google Search Console: Verify your site and submit the sitemap.
Step 2: Monitor Performance

  • Regular Check: Monitor website traffic, user behavior, and search performance.
  • SEO Tools: Use SEMrush or Ahrefs to track keyword rankings and backlinks.
Step 3: Adjust Strategies

  • Analyze Data: Use the data to understand what works and what doesn't.
  • Make Changes: Adjust your content, social media, and SEO strategies based on insights.
Implementation Timeline

Week 1-2:

  • Set up and optimize social media profiles.
  • Conduct keyword research.
  • Perform a technical SEO audit.
Week 3-4:

  • Start publishing blog posts and share them on social media.
  • Begin outreach for guest blogging and backlinks.
  • Engage in Facebook groups, answering questions without self-promotion initially.
Month 2-3:

  • Continue regular content creation and social media engagement.
  • Monitor performance using analytics tools.
  • Adjust strategies based on data and start new keyword optimization.
By following this detailed plan, you will systematically improve your website's rankings and overall performance. If you need help with any specific part of the process, feel free to ask!

Hey did you build your website yourself or buyed the website
I bought expired domain with good backlinks and travel website history about that country, but i didn't help a lot because I didn't restore the old articles and when google realized I am building a new page they pushed me into the sandbox. I was there for about 5-6 months because I didn't do any new backlinks.

That's something I am planning to do. I did something similar on reddit, but I think Facebook is much more suitable for that. But, I am maybe thinking to create a page related to my website and that country. Since I am travelling to that country in July/August and I will spend a month there, the first thing I will do is to write 10-15 original articles with photos and videos about different things - from travel, food, tips and tricks, how-to, etc. I will post on Facebook and Instagram as well and try to build something from that. I am still undecided how to deal with backlinks, PBNs are not very reliable, cheap backlinks as well and the quality guest posts are expensive. So, I would invest in that only if I know my chances are good.

That's probably the last step I would take, when I'll have some good numbers, then I will think about monetization. I earn decent money from my other IM projects.

Forget Reddit, it doesn't really lend itself to this.
Good for your planning though!
Take a TON of photos.
You're going to create a tourism site, and without photos, you're going to die. So get your camera gear (or smartphone) ready, and think about taking Lightroom or Canva to make some nice montages. I'll send you an example privately.
As for the backlinks, I confess: I bought them afterwards and put them aside.
