In my opinion, the previous Black theme is more readable, even though this one is nice. if the option to switch themes is available, would like to use it..I just need readabilty without straining. This is PC based feedback by the way.

Stylish and efficient.

It's been known for years now that BHW's colour scheme was meant to be "black and gold", but the black and yellow bumblebee look of yesteryear took precedence.

Not anymore! With a dark, https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/bhw-new-theme.939264/#post-10033108 https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/forum-desing-is-too-black-my-eyes-getting-tired.361773/ background colour that's easy on the eyes, coupled with the soft golden yellow of the text; you can now browse BlackHat World with the confidence that your friends and family won't think you're on a site that's a little more sultry, if you catch my drift.

But it's more than just a simple colour change. The new dark theme's layout takes advantage of that formerly unutilised empty space from before. We'll give you a quick example: do you see the old user boxes that accompany every post?

That entire image was the user box, including the space between. All of that wasted screen real-estate.

But now, we have a more compact layout for user information. As you can see, member information is easy to view in one central location on each post. There's even a new "pill" feature to highlight a member's user colour status.
With this new compact layout, we're now able to dedicate more of the page to the content you post rather than the void it was before.

This means you'll be able to see more content per page in a way that still gives some attention to the individual poster. After all, the user who posts the content is just as important as the content itself.

The light theme, formerly known as the white theme, has been a source of contention between users for well over a decade. But no longer; this is a gap we needed to bridge.

In order to properly develop a light theme for BlackHat World, we had to find a way to encapsulate that expected darkness of the community in a way that doesn't make it feel like "White Hat World".

This is where you can see the talent of the developers combined with the feedback of the community really shines through. The rich, white chocolatey colouration has a creamy feel to it that's delicious enough to eat; yet is still easy on the eyes.

Naturally, we took the opportunity to re-review design elements that you, the community, have been pointing out for years.

----------A New Logo----------​
By now, you've surely noticed that the logo has changed.

Look, there's no denying that the old logo was iconic. In fact, it was the only BHW logo I had ever known having been a member here for over a decade. But we are pleased to unveil this new logo for BlackHat World as this redesign features a modern look with bold colours and clean lines; a look that we feel represents a significant update to our brand identity. Essentially, this new logo communicates who we are today and marks a new chapter for BlackHat World.

It is great, we can try some different UI/UX, like some white or luxury touch in theme

It's an example showing that light theme pallete of colors is nothing but designer's choice. It works really well in every area of life. It's better than just pure whites. It has soul if you think of it.

Paint your room or do anything with these colors instead of straight whites. You'll have something better and soulful.

This change carries an important message. "Evolve and adapt or die" - it's very important in business. In life you don't have to evolve though. You can stay miserable if you will and just "adapt". :D

Consider just black + white color palette. It feels just blank. Like just being born. Well, actually companies that are young and don't have much money, may start with these.

But the older the company, it should evolve their brand and become more mature with colors that actually represent something. That's how I think of it.

Now see yourself. Compare "Anthropic" design to "Chat-GPT". I wish Chat-GPT had colors of Anthropic. :p

If someone doesn't know in reading mode on browsers and on Kindle you can set "Sepia" mode and it feels nice.

Even Apple has this shade color in their color palette. See "Starlight" Silicon Macs. I'd get one.

As mentioned in the opening post FAQ's we won't be bringing back the original theme

The forum is dynamic and optimised for mobile use. So there is no need to have a mobile app and we currently don't have any plans to launch a mobile app.

The post you have linked to the user has set the text color to white. It's not a page issue it's at the users decision.

No change to the theme colour since we did the launch.

What I thought of is an automatic flip of such colors but I believe that'd be really complicated to implement just to get such a small benefit of inverting shades of white.
 
So again we have been hard at work improving the theme based upon the constructive feedback and we have just launched the following changes

1. The post font size is now larger by default which led to many font tweaks throughout the site in order to keep it balanced.
2. The conversation and alerts dropdown has now been re-worked to make it more readable

3. There were occassions when the screen layout didn't allow for longer usernames. This has been addressed and fixed in a number of places.
4. Many other minor tweaks and bug fixes
 
Looks good now.

Much easier to tell what Threads I've read and not with larger font size.
 
Some of these banners are draggable. Some are not. You can literally move them into the "post box" accidentally.

I think the difference is that videos cannot be dragged at all and images can be.

If it's a feature and not something else, why is that? Why would anyone be able to move ads to post box? :p

Any image can be dragged into a post, it will then be automatically changed into an bbcode IMG tag with the image URL but uploading is the preferred way so the image is attached to the post and therefore always remains.
