Hello friends,

I created a new blog site.

domain: darkbet.com

My keyword is ''Darkbet''

But google ranks my site with my category name.

When I type Google Darkbet, the URL: https://darkbet.com/genel comes out like this and my homepage does not appear.

Also, my domain name and keyword are the same. Why I can't get results, I want to take advantage of experts like you. I look forward to your help.

I was using Yoast seo before, now I switched to Rank Math, could this be the source of the problem?

Your homepage content might be too general and not focused on the keyword "darkbet". The "genel" category page seems to be ranking for "darkbet" because it might have more content about "darkbet" than your homepage.

To improve your homepage ranking:

  • Make sure your homepage title tag and meta description include the keyword "darkbet".
  • Update your homepage content to be more relevant to the keyword "darkbet".
  • Build backlinks to your homepage from other websites.

Your new website with the keyword "darkbet" might not rank for it yet due to its newness and content.
Try to Focus on creating valuable content and optimize your homepage for the target keyword to improve ranking.

Make sure your homepage is set up to shine for your main keyword "Darkbet," and double-check your site's structure to make it easy for google to understand. Switching SEO plugins might have impacted your rankings, so keep an eye on that too!

I created 3 different homepages. I've tried them all. But it still indexes the category name. I made a 301 redirect to the main page of the category url, will this be a problem?

I see 2 pages with exact same content, Google canonical URL and you can fix it.

Tamamen aynı içeriğe sahip 2 sayfa görüyorum, Google standart URL'si ve bunu düzeltebilirsiniz .
If I delete those pages completely, will it work for me if I leave only 1 page?

why you change my quote :D i wrote in english.. :)

No, You don't need to delete it. Google doesn't know which page best represents your duplicate content. Set a canonical tag on the homepage to tell Google that the homepage is the main page among these duplicates.

I have 3 pages. 1 of them is fixed. Already fixed the automatic canonical URL being happening.

My tip is when you have your name as brand domain like jsmith.com and you are doing SEO for your clients (an example)
You offer service for branding and seo outreach

Use my example here to get ideas with your keyword domain name.

You have your site structure like this; Home , Services , (a category when you offer multiple services) Blog, (this is a category) ....

Your Home page build it as a content hub who linking to your other categories = Blog or you have multiple categories.
Then your category page should have breadcrumbs and a good description of what this page is about. The title (your keyword here in H1)
Build your silo, all single posts linking back to the category (Blog) and home page.

Your Services category has 2,3 or 4 sub categories (the services you offer) create posts here and link back to the sub category, the category and Home page. Have a strong cta on your services posts.

And have links in your footer; your menue links, about me, contact etc,etc.....
Seo and indexing: Set in robots.txt your categories to index and categories should be in your sitemap.

With that you build a good seo site structure to have a high chance to gaining multiple serp lisitngs in google. Each single blog posts site is linking back to your sub category and Blog category and link to your Home page.

This will build a natural good link flow through your site. I not see websites with multiple serp listings who using static pages. You can make your Home page as a post (Home is a category) to rank it, for this use a better more unique title than "Home" like Seo Hub !

Your Home site is an attractive content hub with unique descriptions of each of your categories and link to them. Not use here the same description as you have on your category pages ! Here is a example of a big contenthub; bloomberg.com/europe

Try it you have nothing to loose but all to win !
