Check the number of transactions, success rate and transfer time. You can see that for every peer. Also, start with small amounts and once you gain the trust you can increase the amount for that particular peer.

Took me a while to figure things out but coinbase is a trusted source although glitchy at times. They're working on that. Phantom wallet seems to be very easy to use as well.
