Am I missing something, sellers of services refusing to message?

Am pretty new here. Each time I post asking for a service and implicitly state "Inbox me" or "PM's only, will not telegram etc" but then all you get is people commenting (not messaging) with their Telegram and Skype details.

Seems odd but maybe I'm missing something?

What's the reason people looking to sell services do this?

Some people do this for convenience as they can't stay active all the time on the forum. Skype/telegram notifications on the mobile are easy to check and respond. But I agree that they should interact with customers through comments or DMs and initiate the sales within the platform.

I'm not so sure, is a very strange thing that doesn't happen on other forums as much.

Posted asking to buy UK GMB listings and reviews stating "Inbox me" only to receive replies on thread to message them on Telegram, Skype etc

Some people do this to promote their contact details for later leads. For example, if you post in the HAF section, your thread will be indexed by Google. Due to the good SEO of BHW, that thread will rank high in Google search. If someone who is not already a member comes across that thread organically, they will see their contact details etc... So don't be surprised if you see people mass Replying with "Add me on Skype", "Msg me on Tg" and so on even though you specifically mentioned that you will only deal via PMs.

It's the big mistake BHW allowed to Telegram/Skype in WTB and HAF section.
It should be cut down, want to do the job, write the PM
