Anyone saw Northern Lights?

yes, albeit slightly. i missed the peak/s but when i did go out the sky was still a bit pink/purple. i did not manage to get a good picture unfortunately. as a bit of a space nerd i love how we've been blessed with so many cosmic events this year. it inspired me; one day i will go visit the arctic to get a real glimpse of this heavenly glory.

No and I don't want to see it because I'm not an astronomist. :)

I wouldn't consider myself lucky seeing that. :)

I didn't see this past weekend because where I live there is way too much light pollution to see anything but I've seen and photographed Northern Lights in Alaska, Canada and Iceland in the past.

Unless its a very strong solar storm its very hard to see it with naked eye. As a photographer I typically do upto 30 seconds of exposure to capture all the colors. What you see with your eyes is never as vivid as what you see in photos. Photos are also post processed to further bring out more color.

Zeiss 21mm f2.8 is my astrophotography lens.

I happen to see auroras probably once a week.

Very common in the Nordics. Even the most southern parts of the Nordics get visible auroras pretty much at least once a month.

Nothing special to see here, but still makes me awe every time. Lovely stuff.

I was in Iceland few years ago with group of photographers. We were having dinner in a restaurant that's near Strokkur Geyser and were planning to photograph it afterwards. I finished my dinner already when I overheard waiter telling next table "Would you like to see Aurora Borealis" and he told them to go outside as the solar storm started. I went outside to look and it was the strongest I've seen with eyes (not with camera) over few days of being in Iceland and trying to photograph it. I ran back to my group of photographers, told them about and they all rushed to finish their dinner to run to the geyser area to photograph it for next few hours. I think we stayed up until 4am that night and moved few locations.

Scandinavia is one of the best place to see it imo.

No, but I'd love to check it out. Travel to every beautiful place in the world

I went to sleep early and got up at midnight, but saw nothing :( but at least I don't have to tell myself I didn't try now
