Demand letters to cold texters

Haha, this happened to me a couple of years ago.
So I was doing my regular cold email spam and thought I got something on the hook.. I had a pretty decent conversion rate since I always offered people to pay after and one of the "prospects" who got my email started asking all sorts of questions... what company do I represent and what is my name etc, they wanted to pull a reverse uno on me and either go and snitch on me directly to Law Enforcement or start asking money for "damages"...
Thankfully I realized it before I let it that far and told him to piss off, he sent a couple of threats and that was it pretty much.
The fines and repercussions are quite big in the European Union for harassing people with your unsolicited offers but rarely anything happens to anyone.. personally I wouldn't really care if someone actually went to the police to complain that I sent them an email...

The penalties are fairly harsh in the US too. 500-1500 per text message sent.
I'm on the do not call list with the FCC and marketing texts must have explicit opt ins before a text can be sent. I all ready screenshot one conversion and sent it to the FCC to see what would happen.

It's good that you mentioned this because I was reading up on SMS marketing the other day and wanted to do a test blast in the U.S. but I haven't got my software and all the necessary things in motion yet.
I guess those suckers in the States have way more ways to twist your arms than the authorities have in the EU.
It is fairly hard to find a web service or virtual dialer in the US that will allow you to sms blast. As the dailer can also be on the hook if they do not do proper controls.
There are a lot of levels of law that they cannot call or message me for marketing. Same as you if it is enforced is a different story.
