Driving traffic with Google Discover?

Since search engines are striving more and more towards AI and SGE, especially Google, we should probably start looking at other options. One option that keeps popping up in my head is Google Discover, that homepage tab on mobile Chrome browsers. I'm just not sure how to do it.

I want to start leveraging the power of Google Discover but searching on Google almost only give me the same answer, make your image 1200px wide. What else is there to it? Why do some sites have ALL of their articles appearing on Google Discover?

I see so many low quality travel blogs show up there, all regurgitating the exact same info and headlines. But let's take an example: boredpanda.com. They are everywhere. A lot of their posts are just copy paste reddit threads, but still they show up every damn time I check the feed. Why is this?

This feature cannot be as sophisticated as Google search, so how do we game it? What niches are best? Are there any black hat methods to get shown in Discover? Can we accomplish this with pure AI sites (edited of course), or even straight up copy pasted content from other sources?

Let's discuss this golden goose and any theories you might have. I read somewhere on BHW that you have a higher chance of appearing if you share your content on Reddit but I've not been able to recreate this yet. Any ideas?

Yes, it's a popular advice for Google Discover but it's not compulsory at all.

Thanks, that's what I feared. However, I have seen some newer sites appear as well with low authority. So there has to be some possibility at least.

Newer sites sometimes get a little boost by Google, mine did. I still don't know how I got on discover! But since then I have had nothing.

If you want to succeed in Google, it takes a lot of authority, especially after the recent updates.

Whether it is worth the patience and cost for that only you can decide.

Personally, I am getting out of blogging apart from one site.
