Is there another update going on since 5-6 May 2024?

Traffic has decreased dramatically in the tech niche. And also in analytics it looks like the numbers are stuck. As, if after going up to some point it will never go up further in terms of traffic number.

RPM rates in adsense are also stuck kind of. I know an update is going on for large sites, but shall it effect other sites which are not big ones?

For the decrease in your traffic, it could happen because of many factors like Google Update , changes in user behavior or may be technical Issue...You

can try reviewing your backlink profile, content and Technical SEO...

Regarding AdSense , check your Ad placements and try different ad formats and also make user that is well optimized for mobile users...

Who told you the google update is only affecting larger sites?

You are correct... there is a point where website would stuck on the same level and won't go further up. That's because you hit the glass ceiling. Above it, you are not allowed to enter. This is the place reserved for special google guests like reddit, quora, youtube etc... You are lucky if you get any trafffic at all.

Yes, there is a new algorithm that was live on 5th May 2024 it mostly affects the expired domains and low quality content. check Google for more info.

If a page was getting 500 pv's per then it has decreased to 400 or 380. And it's kind of stuck there. It's not that our site isn't getting activity any less. But traffic isn't increasing atleast not as per analytics.

I am not seeing anything in GSC.

And people I am not seeing that my traffic has decreased to bit where I would say it has been hit. I would say that it has gotten effected by something. Traffic reduced, yes. But by 20-25%. And RPM rates which may vary from $0.20-$1.00 is stuck between $0.20-$0.26

This is probably because Google is changing the main page all the time.... more paid ADS (4 instead of 3), more youtube videos, PAA everywhere, products etc... your ranking might be the same but your website is pushed down by other things... Google is trying to improve profits no matter what so they do all the tricks. Over time even if your website is not penalised by google update you will still gradually loose traffic.

Mine dropped 25-30% and I know a few more people who got hit the same.

However, it's not like the HCU update, I just lost some top #1 positions to Reddit (no surprise)

Reddit has a special deal wiith google so they should be marked as "ad" or "sponsored"

My rankings haven't changed much. Yes a place demote here or rise up there, has happened but nothing drastic.

No. It was a brand new one when I bought it back in 2013
