I want to promote something to college students by distributing them pamphlets. What is better option between these two

Giving them pamphlets in the morning on college gate when they are about to enter.

Giving them pamphlets in n the evening on college gate when they are coming out .

Which of these two cases has chances of getting higher attention from students ?

Also , give your reason for choosing your particular reason.

If you do the first one, it is more likely they will talk about it during college time with their friends. Maybe after college, they have their mind on video games and juicy, and if it means carrying something home like a numpty or putting in the bin, then the local bin might be overflowing.

Also don't stand anywhere close to a bin. At least if students go in, they might not litter the college. But the college might also complain if you don't have permission.

Which ones the best? Dunno. Try both and compare. Don't discriminate just 1. You could try different days, and different times, lol plus obviously the difference in flyers. You could test lots of ideas, and get plenty of bombs, but one star!

I would create a split test. Two different versions of the flyer to see which one performed better. For instance, by using a different URL to sign up.

You have to test before you come to conclusion

How you going to test is on both pamphlet have different links to track the conversion

No students read the pamphlets handed over to them; I know cause I have been a student who was handed over pamphlets. I might fold them and keep them in my hands so as not to make the person feel terrible if we throw them after some distance. A better strategy would be to stick those pamphlets at places where they are seen by students such as restaurants or cafes near that college, Walls near College, polls, bus windows, etc... be creative

But you were just one of the students. How can we conclude for all students with just one sample ?

Morning, because you are likely to reach more students.
Logically, most of them start at the same time, but might finish school at a different hour, so you might need to wait at the gate for a lot longer to hand out the same amount if flyers.

I'd argue that people are more concentrated at the morning, and handing flyers to students in the morning can even give them something to read in a boring lecture.

The first one. If you give pamphlets in the evening, there is a higher chance they won't really look at it and will just throw it away. If you were done with college for the day and decide to party, you probably wont even remember the pamphlet.

First one. They're fresh and will have the rest of the day to talk about it among themselves.

When I used to run flyer marketing for small biz I would always use different websites, phone numbers , coupon codes, colors etc and keep track of the number of folks who reached out so i could figure out what did and didn't work. Now this is easily done with QR codes and landing pages . Good Luck

Morning, because doing anything, even quickly skimming through a random pamphlet triumphs paying attention in class.

Depends what sort of student you're marketing to. College isn't like high school where they enter at 8am and leave at 3pm with everyone funneling through a single chokepoint.

At the college level there's a steady stream coming in and out, usually from multiple entrances and exits, so you have to decide the sort of student you want to target. Do you want to target the morning person, or do you want to target the person who stays up all night? You might go for the morning person if your product is about ambition, self-improvement, etc. but you'd go for the night owl if you're trying to market a video game or sell pizza.

Once you know the sort of student, now you figure out what financial status you want to target. This is so you can place yourself at the appropriate entrance or exit. Generally, there's going to be multiple parking lots, and you can target the location that has the appropriate financial status. Same goes for any dorm rooms, as students of similar financial means will usually stick together. This is why you'll see all the beater cars in a particular lot, and the kids with the Bentleys and Porsches are in a different lot.

And keep in mind that some people, like myself, will purposely never purchase anything from you if I'm handed a flier at the wrong moment. If I'm walking by with a purpose and you stop me, or you interrupt a conversation I'm having with someone, you can bet I'll remember what you handed me. But it won't be for the right reason.

If you want to market things you need to think about all these aspects and more. It's not as simple as morning or night for better results; I mean if that were the case then everyone would market at a certain time and you wouldn't even have this question. Your marketing 101 class would be like "always market at 4pm for best results".
