Hey everyone

I really want to start youtube because i really enjoy creating content. I want to start a youtube essay channel because researching things like space, conspiracy theories or any niche that can have a twist to it.

I really like the animation style of LEMMiNO

I like animating to tell a story.

How would you recommend me to start this channel of mine?

Any tips for animations, promotion and anything else for me to make good content is appreciated!

Example of animation

If you are looking to have regular character in your animation, then either a 3d model in blender with lip sync, or 2d with adobe character animator is what I'm using for my animations. To compose and produce, blender is defiantly best, as you can import models AND animations obviously. Scenes are also easily built with textures. Some of the scenes are so easy, you might just produce them in premiere too.

Any recommended software or ai ?

Have you ever start YT channels before?
Yes, i had an old youtube channel in 2015 making counterstrike videos, i got to 350 subscribers by posting commentary and montages.

I know the ins and outs of basic youtube but its really been on my mind to start growing a page as youtube is timeless and i'd love to build something!

I know blender is free and most adobe stuff isn't, would you say its worth more learning blender for this or just sticking to adobe and 2d animations?

Thing with blender is that you can work as a 2d animation, and then import 3d assets, and work with them in the 2d scene view. Then you can use free resources such as gifs, and convert them to png sequences and import the images and the audio.

Both have a pretty big learning curve, but if you want to be able to create animations from the basics, I would say just stick to blender and master it ( you wont regret it), and use the huge range of free 3d model assets such as mixmo, and also buy cheap models from blendermarket.

I bought a pretty basic set of buildings and textures that worked well for what I needed, and can be used in future projects for like 10 bucks. There are courses too on blender marketplace. just got to make sure you buy above blender 4.0 items (latest stable version)

Blender can almost be a replacement composition tool for animation scenes, much like Premiere and After Effects, but I think it's a bit easier to get going with.

The best thing about Adobe and Character Animator is that you can really easily use it to animate your ready-made 2D characters and voice/mouth movements, then export them to your scene in Blender. That's my workflow. But I have a friend who exports to Premier and does his scene composition all in Premier, and his scenes are pretty complex with lots of assets.

Animation is really hard; I suggest you look into slideshows instead.

Have you taken a course of animation ? Also, it takes lot of time to make these animation videos, you will not get time for anything else.

Making these animations like the channel can be exhaustive for not professionals. It is completely craft.
You should check CapCut and copyright-free videos from pixabay etc. It could be more appropiate for beginning.

Are you sure you want to do all those things all at once?

You have to understand that when you put together a YouTube video, there are several tasks that you need to do.

You have to come up with a script.

You have to come up with a style.

You have to come up with a voice.

You have to come up with a soundtrack, and so on and so forth.

If I were you, I would focus more on the script because it seems like you have a good idea.

You said you are thinking of space or conspiracy theories that have a twist to it.

That's great!

Focus on that and everything else you can outsource on places like Fiverr because people use Doodle-type animation tools.

And since it's a race to the bottom with cheaper and cheaper service providers from all over the world, you should be able to get a good deal as long as you give clear instructions.

The bottom line is to focus on your core competency.

A lot of people like to be jack of all trades and that's why a lot of their channels don't go anywhere.

I think you need two main skills. The first skill is to gather information, images, and videos from places like news websites, YouTube, etc. The second skill is to be proficient in video editing software to cut, merge, and add voiceovers.
