Lately, I have been receiving an AI summary whenever I ask a question on Google. Frankly, the answer has been better than looking through the results myself.

Have any of you noticed this? And if this is the direction Google is going, how can we adapt? Or will it reach a point where we just hang up our hats, be they black or white?

There will ALWAYS be a way to adapt to AI as long as the public (us) still has access to it.

We can figure out a way around most of the roadblocks that Google creates. There are a lot of us, after all. :)

google made sure to diminish the quality of the SERPs so that their own product stand out. The updates of the last 3-4 years have continuously removed quality sites from the SERPs, now we know why...

And one of the worst things is that their AI is trained on OUR research and content, without us getting paid for it. Google needs to fall, they've started as a search engine now they're a content aggregation mafia

I agree. But it's not just going to fail because we want it to. If that were the case, journalism would have been saved years ago :/ I think that Google will eventually become obsolete, but for now, it has a commanding place in search and our general information ecosystem. AI is gonna scramble everything, however, and we will see how that goes...
