News website not indexing - help

Hey guys, how’s it going?

So, I need help with a news website I’m putting together. I spent my last dime buying the domain and hosting provider for this website (ah the third-world privileges), so I could kickstart this project I’ve been wanting to do for over 5 years.

The website is about MMA news, covering the relevant news from combat sports: http://www.jiushitzu.com.

The thing is, I’m far from being a webdev or an SEO expert I’m just a journalist who is looking to “build something of their own”. At first, it looked like the website would be good to go in no time, however, soon enough I started having indexing issues with Google.

I tried it out a bunch of times and eventually found a “no index” tag via google search console… after that, I thought that the problem would be fixed.

However, every time I write a new article, it doesn’t get indexed. I have a full-time job so spending time to go after relevant news only for it not to get indexed is incredibly disheartening.

I use a cream magazine theme, and rank math SEO plugin (free). I don’t know exactly what I’m doing wrong at this point. Could it be that Google only needs more articles for it to start noticing me?

have you try to submit your site in to GSC? dont forget to submit your sitemap too..

Have you tried manually indexing it through Google URL inspection tool.

Please have a look on your robots.txt file. It seems there is no index tag.

Beside, did any of your URL or page indexed until now? If not then that is definitely because of no index tag.

Its normal for a new start website, though you can still push it a bit by sumbitting your URL to search console, submit a sitemap, submit to Bing search console, post URLs to social media, reddit, X, etc.

After Google recognize your website, it should be stable to get crawled fast.

Indexing is nowadays critcally part of seo after google update many sites facing issue in indexing because google core update de index sites or it will not index new post so do some changes in your site and audit your site and follow quality guidelines.

Definitely submit each article to GSC as soon as you publish it (10 per day limit).

But if you're not going to post daily, you better reframe it as "mma commentary" rather than news. For google news you need a high frequency.
