Are GPT / LLM posts breaking a rule on BHW?

I've noticed some blatant ones lately, providing really generic insight that don't really answer the questions being asked.

I was just wondering if this is against the rules? I'm not sure I would report them if they were against the rules, but at the same time I don't want this place to turn into some quora website with generic answers being spammed... where nothing interesting is being shared because the person submitting the content doesn't really have experience with whatever they're discussing.

Apologies if this has been discussed a lot in the past, I figured it would be hard to search for threads about this topic because these keywords get discussed a lot for marketing tactics.

Yes, I report AI generated posts. Moderators remove them. Just don't report something with real value provided as it's pointless.

Yes, I report AI generated posts. Moderators remove them. Just don't report something with real value provided as it's pointless.

Yeah Google is shit now. When they do stuff like showing Quora results it seems like they've just given up (admitted defeat) on putting effort into their ranking algorithm and offhand that aspect to these social media websites "they will police the trash themselves, we just show results from them".

They do the same thing with Reddit, majority of my search results from Google will return a list of Reddit threads. Which sometimes can be worthwhile but a lot of times not at all.

I wish browser bookmarking was more feature rich and cared for, so you could use your bookmarks as a search engine. A lot of the times I'm just searching for the same pages I've visited in the past but with a specific keyword somewhere on a page. Can't do that with bookmarks. There should be some full-text search.

Also I find myself having to use the Yandex search engine a lot if I'm looking at anything politically motivated or controversial, so I avoid potential censorship. Yandex don't give a fuck.
