Do you consider Spam Score of the website while creating backlinks?

Hey,
I found a website from where my competitor is getting a backlink whose SS is 82% and DA 88. I have a question, if SS is considered bad then why this domain is active with 82% SS? If not then should I create a backlink on this domain?

Spam score is a made up figure originally by Moz and then Ahrefs. Just check their organic traffic trend to see how much Google likes the site.

Don't sweat the Spam Score too much. Look at the Domain Authority instead and make sure the site fits with yours before getting that backlink.

Need more research on this. Just spam score is not enough data to take this decision. You could manually check the website and its content and backlinks.

If these are okay, go for it. otherwise don't.
