i have an ecom store that was building some decent traffic on google over the past few months, and i started focusing on blogging to help build links naturally but suddenly my traffic has started to decrease and alot of my blog posts that would rank in top 10 are suddenly gone from serp

im a bit concerned and not sure what to do, i have 120 RDs which includes about 6 spammy sites

anyone got any advice? i can afford to keep building quality links but not sure if its already too late for this domain, i feel like im getting concerned a bit early as its not a HUGE drop in traffic

should i disavow the spammy links?

Just a few spammy links won't hurt you so I wouldn't waste my time there.
As for the rankings... I think you need more time to draw a conclusion.

As he said few spamy links may not affect much but it is better to remove those also since it may affect your site reputation and Goodwill also check on other factors like ensuring high quality and relevant content, Relevant Keywords, make changes to yor site as per the Algorithm update. also I would suggest you to take a technical SEO audit and check for the report.

in ahrefs my site has consistently had a 100 health score, im probably just going to wait out like a week to see how it goes, also do you know if theres any difference between me disavowing the links and having them actually removed from the websites, i feel like the latter would be more effective but would be more difficult than just disavowing

Were you using ai articles on the blog?

i used GPT 4 to write some of them but i always proof read, make it sound normal and run it through GPT zero and quillbot to it to say human

i hadnt actually thought that this couldve been the problem i do have a couple blog posts showing up as AI so i will double check them all to make them human then reindex

about 7 /30 of blog blogs had 30% + Ai content according to quillbot (i ran out of gptzero usage) so i will have a super fun day tomorrow rewriting them then will reindex

have made all the AI blogs under 5% ai from gptzero and have reindexed, will send updated rankings in about a week to see if theres any improvement

It doesn't look too extreme.

Worry if your traffic drops to zero, and that's what a lot of people experienced during the March update.

So continue to publish and continue to interlink your pages.

It's really important to keep in mind the power of interlinking because you're actually training Google when you interlink.

But a lot of people do this the lazy and sloppy way.

You should focus on this rule of thumb.

If the value of the content that you are linking to enhances the value of the content on the page you're linking from, you're doing it right.

But any other way, you're doing it wrong.

It's all about passing value.

It's really important that when you use a certain anchor, that anchor should accurately summarize or embody the content on the page that you are linking to.

I hope you understand that.

It's very basic, but a lot of people miss this, and that's why they suffer.

Look at these fluctuations as good news because you're not the only one that got hit.

And from the looks of it, you didn't get hit that bad.

So use it as an opportunity.

Produce better quality experiences on your site.

Pay close attention to what I said.

I said "experiences."

I did not say "content;" I did not say "links."

I'm talking about something bigger and broader: experiences.

If you are able to deliver the right experience to people visiting your site, you will win.

Most people are looking for a quick buck.

They're looking for a shortcut, and that's why they're going to continue to get punished unless they are willing to play a churn-and-burn game.

You probably don't need me to remind you of how much money that requires.

So if you're a small player, focus on quality.

Focus on serving and taking care of your visitors.
