I think Ahrefs is highly over rated, and in the last year or two SEMRush runs circles around it (both in keyword suggestions and backlinks analysis). I have both, and I'm dropping Ahrefs as soon as my membership ends.
I'm looking into keywordtool.io these days as well, as it has more keyword research oriented features.
