if there is ever an energy crisis, and the lights go out, you will rule the world with that many pencils :)

well as far as automation goes I am not to sure.. google has excel on it in a online format so you can save it on the go...has excel word etc I believe

Roboform is what I use. It makes remembering passwords easy!!! :)

Roboform, TextPad , and firefox pass manager..
for roboform you can get it on download section

I gave up on roboform and went to lastpass, couldn't be happier, especially considering how often I reinstall my system lastpass is a life savior, I always forget to backup the data anyway :)
For people who use excel + notepad I would also advice you take a look over Microsoft OneNote, it's a step up in data organization, in one software you can store everything from text, spreadsheets, charts to pictures. Plus it's simple considering it's part of MS Office and it's made for ... keeping notes.

I have an external hard drive.
There are main folders like software, projects, information. Each has subfolders - for example my software folder has a folder for xrumer, senuke, etc. The folder will contain all the passwords and the software files. The projects folder will have folders with domain names which contain articles, passwords, + any other work for that domain.

I like this approach because if my main computer dies, gets a virus, or I upgrade then everything is ready to roll on my external hard drive and I just plug the USB cable into the new computer and reinstall everything.

I use an excel spreadsheet to keep track of info, and a local server with a folder for each website for files and everything else.

It's low-tech, but it works very well for me.

I use 1Password for all my passwords, almost all of them are generated by Password so they're far more than something on my own. And since it syncs with my iPhone I always have them with me. That way there's more room in my brain for more important things.

For everything else I use TextEdit & folders. I create separate folders for each project. Inside it will have a text file with all the usernames, passwords, links etc. then the rest of whatever files there are for that particular project.

I also use Things to keep track of what I have to do, what's due soon, that sort of stuff.

But yeah, mainly lots of text files. They're all very well organized so I don't have to sift through tons of crap to find what I need. I can't stand unorganized.

I have a Mac though so that was probably only useful to 2 or 3 people here :D

I have mine set up like this. I have one folder that I have subfolders that I keep backup in. I have an excel spreadsheet that has all login for everything I use.

But to manage your sites I would say set something up like this. Look for a great host company that offers a reseller account. Set up a reseller account for your self. Set up 3 domains as your main hosting accounts. then set up all your other sites as add on domains under those 3 main hosting accounts. This way you only need to remember 3 logins to get into any of your sites and make edits. You would only need one cpanel log in as you can switch to your other accounts in cpanel.

Just an idea.

Some guy posted about http://www.zoundry.com/ in another thread. This looks quite cool as you can publish to multiple blogs. Will try this out and look some more into OneNote as i use it for studying anyway. Might post up a template here later to get some feedback or for others to use.

I use RoboForm too, it's quite good

as an online alternative you can use LastPass (has plugins for IE, Firefox and even Chrome)

Thanks for the recommendations guys, this will come in handy :)

One thing i use with my browser to keep track of all the ressources i find all over the web and especially in this forum is: http://www.diigo.com
You can even highlight websites and it atuomatically snapshots them. You can even have it publish your bookmarks to sites like delicio.us (could be used for something else as well i reckon ^^) All in all this is really great tool for me ;)

Cool I do too, thought I was the only one! Diigo is very useful and powerful. I use it a lot to grab ad copy that I like, so I can refer back when I'm writing up a sales page. It's also a great tool for saving bits of info I find on forums, like common frustrations or anything I can put together for an ebook. I have yet to try the autoposting to blog feature.

@plateau

Firepow looks interesting - some questions for you from a "user standpoint"

No probs dude. I'll try to answer your questions below :

I currently run WPDirect for some projects (one of the "competitors" they compare it with)
- Do you know where it pulls its auto-content from?

FP pulls content from ezine, articledashboard, articlecity, google blogs, youtube, google news, yahoo news, yahoo answers.

Best thing is that they can mix up the content. Example it can take a video from youtube and mash it up with an article from ezines. Making your post sorta unique cause there's different codes pasted into there, not just one code which is a duplicate from somewhere.

- Where do you still need to tweak things at the "blog admin / wp-admin" level?

Not really. Once it's set up with FP, you don't have to do anymore tweaks from your wp-admin. All the seo settings are automatically set up. However, you can login to your wp-admin to add personal plugins etc. It's compatible.

- With auto installation of a blog, can you specify specific plugins, and a set theme template, etc?

Plugins are auto installed. Can't choose them. But there are sufficient from a seo standpoint. You can add your own plugins via wp-admin without conflicting with FP.

As for templates, as you install your blog with FP, you can choose out of a bunch of themes. There are alot. Close to 100 i think. You can also add in your own themes and use it with FP. And you can change themes whenever you feel bored with the old one without effecting anything else.

- Has the program run "as described" in their sales literature, or are there any "speedbumps" to watch out for?

Sure there are some minor bugs. But i think the overall system is pretty stable. Most bugs are individual from what i can understand. They have a great tech support to handle tech issues. Usually reply within 24 hours, latest.

notepad is the way to go... if you use any of these "save pasword" program you are likely to A. get your info stolen and B. Forget all your passwords when you need them later.

Dont be another idiot who allows a computer to remember his password

always funny seeing hundreds of logins in someone password cache...

Have you used any of the passwords programs? Or do you have about 100+ sites to remember their passwords? Probably not.

These programs (roboform in my case) are established companies that thousands rely on and they have security protections running 24/7. So saying that your password is going to get stolen or forget all your passwords is not cool...
