this couldn't be further from the truth. try going to sleep at 6AM and waking up at 2PM and then compare it to a normal 10PM-6AM sleep schedule. If you get in a few hours between 10PM and 2AM it is a huge boost to your immune system. Lots of hormones at play here. Do a quick search for sleep studies if you want to know more.
Sleep 8 hours a day vs sleep 4 - 8 hours a day randomly. Hours are more important than schedule.
I just slept 3 extra hours as a nap. Apparently I've been missing on some hours.
For immunity just don't drink alcohol and don't smoke cigarettes. Most people can't even do that. Let alone keep full 8 hours.
Half the society has some form of insomnia. To me it seems.
Sleeping from
Is as realistic as being able to plan your whole day perfectly.
Most people's day / schedule isn't in their control.
You might have some super business that requires 2 hours a day of work a day, but that's not gonna work neither for me nor 99% of people on this planet.
And it's that you shouldn't be awake for more than 16 hours. If you exceed 24+ hours, you might start to feel like complete crackhead.
Worst is to extend your awakeness, don't keep sleep schedule, not sleep full 8 hours. If you do all three at the same time, you've got a "full no-sleep party stack". Something ravers and music festival enthusiasts suffer from.

I'm not reading any studies as they don't really reflect my life and I don't really know what variables in those studies were.
Plus many studies have inconclusive research. I'm not gonna lie, studies are useful for scientific research, not something as simple as knowing whether I should feel good doing x or y.
Maybe someone feel better if their bias is confirmed by some studies. I rather seek gratification in other, more meaningful ways.
So why people make studies on humans? Because they need it for further research, to satisfy their curiosity or just for money. Someone might need this research to develop a technology, a drug or medication. Meanwhile people think it's to confirm their bias.
Why would anyone spend so much time and money just to conclude something that varies from person to person? Complete nonsense. Some averages might help them. But for me comparing myself to average person / statistics? All I need to do this is go to Reddit. I'm bonkers after 5 minutes of browsing that site.
Imagine going to a doctor and instead of looking at you, they'd say "read some studies". This is Reddit level thinking.
