There's a lot of scientific evidence to show it's a sphere. If the Earth were flat, ships would not disappear hull first over the horizon. The Earth's curve hides the bottom from view, so as a ship sails away, it vanishes first. The earth casts a round shadow on the moon during a lunar eclipse. This wouldn't be possible if the earth were flat.
