I have an ecommerce website for private labeling (imported items). The thing is there are many items that goes out of stock and have inventory issues and I used to delete the pages first. I heard that's not a good practice and I don't have that deep of a knowledge for SEO. What is the best practice to do?

Assuming you care about this store and want to keep processors happy...

I would recommend you keep the page and just notify the customer on the product page that they will be entering a waitlist until supply is replenished when they place this order.

You will at least keep a percentage of customers that are willing to do this vs delete the listing and lose them entirely.

If you're on Shopify there are apps for this.

Thanks. I am on woocommerce, and I assume that's doable without much of an IT interference.

Don't delete the pages. Recommend similar products on those pages.

Are there no plans to restock? Would they be sold out forever?

Well, there was one issue with an automatic no-touch handwash. I sold them along with refills in a combo pack and separately. What happened was that my supplier ended the manufacturing of the refills. So there were 4-5 complaints on when can they be available by a few of my customers, and I don't have any clue as it is not supported by my supplier anymore. There are few examples similar to this in my product line.

If the demand is high enough you could look for other suppliers for that product.

Yes as suggested it is best to find an alternative simliar product and suggest that on the page while metioning due to supplier issues we are out of stock. Surely unless its a unique design other normal refills should work in the handwash dispenser.

Deleting pages for items that go out of stock isn't the way to go; it erases any SEO juice those pages might have. Keep the pages up, but make it clear the item is currently out of stock and perhaps provide an option for customers to sign up for restock notifications.
