Alibaba question!!!!!

I need to know what kind of buyer protection Alibaba offers to its buyers..I found ps3's for $200 a pop and there is a 5 piece minimum ,now the guy said he doesnt accept paypal only western union..he said he's from australia but lives in UK but the way he types its like he;s from India ..very very bad english and grammar (no offense) ..he is a gold member on alibaba ..are all the sellers on alibaba who have a gold membership legit? should i buy? and what should i ask to make sure he's legit?

honestly my advice is this. With Alibaba there are alot of scammer's. Gold member status anybody can purchase. Ask him if he use's liberty or some Escrow service. Seriously Sending stuff Through Western Union is an automatic red flag be careful. Do research on that individual . There are some good seller's in Alibaba but you will have to truly find that person. In the end if it sounds like a duck , walks like a ducks, chances are its a duck.

if he cant type english and he says hes from an english speaking country then hes a liar, and a liar isnt gonna do legitimate biz with you.

I would advise you strongly to stay away from anything branded coming from China. Brand names always have private contracts with factories and manufactures that mean they may ONLY sell their goods via specified channels, and would not be allowed to sell them directly online to people like you or me.

There are some extremely profitable items on Alibaba, in fact - the profit margins are probably the lowest on the so called branded items.

If you have seen iPods, PS3s, xBox's (etc) for sale on Alibaba, making the purchase will be like throwing your money away. You will not receive what you paid for.

Agreed. Branded goods from the east - assume they're either fake, or an empty box.

I bought a few hundred dollars worth of Titleist golf balls. They were confiscated by US customs and I lost out. Customs wouldn't forward them to me and the company would not refund my money. Most stuff looks legit, but the majority of things are knock offs. They make a nearly identical iphone, but they are fakes. Also don't give them your Fedex account number to ship items to you. They will overnight things and leave you with a huge bill.

Don't buy from alibaba there are so many scammers there. I was scammed for 1000 usd trying to buy ps3's and iphoned. And if they do send you stuff chances are they are fake. I have done a lot of research and name brand electronics from china cost just as much as anywhere else in the world

I actually bought a blackberry 9700 for $ 220USD to see if they will truely scam.

And what do you know. tracking number doesn't even work. 8 days later.. Still nothing received.

I will tell you tho. Alibaba can be trusted but you need to find a goldmember with 2 years+

After he will gain your trust he then will try to scam you for as much money as possible.

The only way of doing an Alibaba transaction safe is via escrow.com but make sure you wire the money to a bank account called Escrow.com from Irvine, CA if you know what I'm saying..and even then you have a change of getting unbranded merchandise. If it looks like a fish, swims like a fish and floats like a fish, chances are its a fish.

Ok guys..

I just received my Blackberry 9700 a few hours ago..

However, the trackpad looks like it has been pushed in.. I'm guessing this is a D.O.A(dead on arrival) sample. Probally to fish me into buying more of this product(which I wont).

Alibaba has potential. However, I wont buy from people I haven't checked with the Chinese government first. And for large transactions I require a foto of his passport including a random picture I send in the foto.

I just bought a shipment of 10 PS3 for a crazy cheap price($140 per). Will be waiting how it will turn out. I will update you guys in 4-6 days.

If you don't want to get scammed get a sample order and ask to pay via paypal so you know your money is safe. If they don't accept then they are probably trying to scam you.

very suspicious. Most of the products from china are of lower quality. For electronic products, usually its imitation, and if you are unlucky it won't even work for you, so it becomes an expensive paper weight for you...and of course no warranty etc. Just my 2cents

OK Alibaba is the scam site of all scam sites. the products are either fake, or never sent. The Alibaba site owners are even IN on some of the scams and offer people gold memberships if they know they can make some money on the back end. Gold means jack shit on alibaba...

Ok well.. It seems the Blackberry 9700 was a fake that I ordered. It is a "Getel 9700".

Even though the supplier said it is "100% original and unlocked". Good thing I bought only 1 to start off with.

Alibaba indeed sucks ass. Still waiting for my order of PS3

Definitely a scammer paradise stay as far away from it as possible. Just make sure you communicate with the buyer, if that's what you really want to do, until the package arrives to your destination and work closely with your bank to track the transaction and ID of your buyer, if possible.

Na I learned my lesson. I will just sell this phone to some stupid idiot who never saw a 9700 before.. and charge him full price.

Never buy branded electronics from Alibaba. Clothes and shit is ok. You can always can get rid of those.
