Questions to configure payment with WooCommerce

I have a site where I will start selling some virtual services and I have already installed WooCommerce.
Which payment gateway do you recommend to install?
Also if there is someone from Europe explain me a little more how it is with the VAT, I am registered to invoice VAT, I guess somewhere in the configuration you put the VAT code.

VAT is just another tax imposed by the European taxosauri (politicians) on us to fund their lavish lifestyles. It differs from country to country (here in Romania it's between 5% and 19% I think) and it applies to certain goods and services, so I don't think it applies to everything (but I'm not sure). You'll have to check the country where your site / business is registered and / or operates in to see how much the VAT is and what it applies to...

Although, I think the payment processor you use on your site will automatically charge the VAT (because the government requires that payment processor to do this automatically for all transactions happening on that territory), so there's not much to stress about with regards to this tax.

hmm... 2CO, Stripe and Authorize.net were the go-to, I think you can start with these.

I don't know, I'm just guessing, because I remember that some years ago I looked for a payment gateway and I went through the TOS of 2CO and Stripe and I noticed that some things (crypto I think it was one of the banned niches, also SMM and SEO services in general, and a few others) were banned.

I'm thinking that they're more strict against "grey hat" niches, grey hat as in niches that are not mentioned on their banned list but they still allow and don't allow at the same time...

Regarding VAT in Europe, if you are VAT registered, you will need to apply VAT to your sales. In WooCommerce, you can set up your VAT rates by navigating to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax. You can input your VAT registration number and specify the tax rates applicable to your products or services. You may also need to provide VAT invoices to your customers for each transaction.

In January 2024 they update their policies and started blocking even content creators and digital products that they previously allowed.
