I do have Featured Image for my post, they will appear on home page or category page, but I hide it inside my post. In Google Discover Guidelines by Google, they said that a post need to have a featured image. Does my setup still work or I need to display the featured image in my post. I already have click from Google Discover but not so much.

To increase the visibility of your content, display the featured image mainly in your post content.

Yes, image is important because it's like default. So optimize it in the right way to grab more visitors.

U guys misunderstood the concept, there are 2 options: A. You have featured image but not display inside the post, B. You have featured image and it displays both inside the post and home page/category page, then which way Google Discover prefers, because it's a ranking factor they said in their guidelines

Showing the featured image inside your post too can help you get more clicks on Google Discover.
no that's not the case, Discover will take any first image in the post to make it Featured image, regardless if you have a featured image from the beginning or not. I just read the guideline again and there's nothing about featured image, they just said the post needs high quality images with at least 1200px, what confuse me is Google discover will credit me If I have a featured image within my post or not
