Ty for all the infoHi all! I am an active member of medium since last December. These 2 months I am trying to find out what method is working for medium. I can share some of my results and experience if you like.
1. In these 3 months, i got about 450 followers. 90% of them are trying to promote something the way we discussed here. Are they succesfull? I think not all of them. I watching their articles..when you see an article with no comments meaning no success on medium audience. That doesnt mean not success at all and you will read on next paragraph why.
2. I have posted 8 articles all written by AI and all containing affiliate links. My most popular article is the first one, regarding an AI platform and a discount when registering through my affiliate link. This article got 130 views, 48 reads. Result was 9 registrations, that makes $90 in profit. Now the strange think is that from these views only 10% was medium users. 90% was external, that means google search and medium emails. So keep that in mind. 90% of my views were organic search from google. So is SEO working on medium? Propably.
3. My other articles regarding an e-sim product, hemp clothes and a fintech service got zero subscriptions. But if you make a keyword search there is no much interest on such products, or i am doing seo wrong.
4. Medium has a little bit strange hierarchy. There are free members, paid members and friends of medium. I think the higher tier you belong to the higher promotion you have from medium algo. Moreover a user can make reading lists. These lists can be puplic or private. My most succesful article got in the public list of Ai oriented articles of a guy there. I got the most views from medium members (that 10% i am talking about on previous paragraph) at this period of time. Propably after my article there were other articles so mine got lost at the bottom.
5. Someone can have unlmited medium profiles. You have 1 email addy? you have 1 medium account. 100 email addys? 100 accounts. i have noticed some of my followers are the same person. how? He followed me and same time subscribed to get my articles by email. 5 profiles with almost same email account? The accounts was something like prizas1@ gmail.com, prizas2@ gmail.com etc. Not difficult to spot. Another point here, you can build an email list from medium. And users emails arevisible to you, no hidden from medium.
6. A trick some people using is they have a paywalled article, just for medium members and at the begining of their article they put a message like: for free members (they dont have access to paywalled content) there is a free version of the article on myblog.com. So they trying to direct trafic to their page. If you know SEO and you write for something interesting you will get some traffic for sure. 90% of visitors are from google.
7. Most of my followers they are just follow anyone. What i mean? People are trying to build a profile in there. So many followers means popularity. I checked that by started following 30 people i found from another profile. 25 of them just followed back same day. That doesn't mean they read my content. Usualy if someone clap on your article is expecting the same from you. If you comment on someone usually you will get a comment back. Actually claps dont means nothing. Someone can give max 50 claps for an article. If i have 10 profiles i can get 500 claps from my profiles for one of my article. The time someone spend on an article means tho. I have noticed some writers there asking for at least a 30 seconds reading so it will count as a possitive reading for the algo.
7. From my experience people that making money directly from medium are people with a lot of followers and a unique style of writing. I m following some of them and their style is completely different from the 99% of the content someone can read on medium, even if they are promoting someting.
8. An important think that can be usefull as a guide is the topics medium has. If you use the search tab you can search people or topics. Next to topics there is the amount of people interested on that topic. What that means? If I like dogs, and at my interest on medium profile i have picked dogs, i will get all newer articles about dogs. From dashboard propably you will notice there is the main screen with general selection of articles named For You, next to it there is the following tag ( from peTy ople you are following) and next the topics i am following. But there is competition there- for examle passive income topic has 9600 members ( half of them potential sellers i think) and 89K articles. that is huge!

P.S you can promote porno on medium. Many articles for sex. Dont know theirs stats tho.

Which sites are you uploading, is there a technique or you just spam videos on one account without thought of title etc.?

AlbinKurti did you manage to make any money with these methods? I'm not asking only for now, but in total for the previous 1-2 years. Keep up the great work man!
