Is everyone on twitter an Internet marketer?

There are a ton of people on twitter to market things too ( One of the big reasons there are so many Marketers on there selling stuff) Just target people with no links in there tweets and you will find a lot of the time that will bring you to the real people. Good luck man.

Twitter is a waste of time. Only a few have any power to make big money. I rather do autoblogs and just set up a twitterfeed for twitter rather then try and get big on it.

Twitter consists mainly of spammers, celebrities & athletes.... A few real people but you need to search them out.

Twitter is very very saturated, but that doesn't mean you can't make money, it just means you have to do more work. I'm sure earlier on it was as easy as auto following and throwing a link out there, but now you have to filter through all the crap and follow the real users. Like someone said above, follow people who aren't putting links in there tweets.

My Twitter has almost 3k followers, and they all are pretty much throwing links non stop so my account is pretty much worthless. I think maybe 3% of my links get clicks and 0% convert. So yeah take your time and do it right and it should pay off more in the end.

Twitter's like WF - marketers trying to sell marketing cr@p to marketers to try sell to others who won't buy because it's marketing cr@p.

All you need to do is make a single post about marketing or twitter and your follower # jumps as they autofollow you.

yeah that is a pretty good idea. I just used a bot to follow a bunch of randoms. Maybe I will get better results if I see exactly who these people are.

That will help a lot, ignoring those who only tweet links and who dont even have profile picture.

I also ignore users where tweets coming from API or other known tweet schedulers like socialoomph.

The key here is finding the right niche and targeting the right people. Some niche dont convert well in twitter.

I don't think twitter should be used to market to people in the "make a million dollars online market". there's a ton of real people on twitter. maybe if you use this http://search.twitter.com/advanced it will help you find the people you want.

Twitter is generally full of spammers unless and until you got a sound business plan...it is more of a tool to find your target audience.
