I want to create some forum profile backlinks and have a question.

If the fourm's primary domain get high PR, say PR8, but the profile page containing my backlink is PR0. Is this backlink useful for my website?

It's useful but not as useful as it could be.

If it sticks eventually the profile will prob get a PR 1 or PR 2 depending on the overall rank of the forum.

Obviously its not as useful as a link from a high PR page but a link is a link it all helps.

Anything is something - post in a few popular threads that have PR and it may get a decent PR, even if it doesn't - it's still a link.

Just post in some popular topics, make a few topics, add other members as friends and what not, this'll get the pagerank juice flowing though inner-links, then your profile will become a higher pagerank.
