Between 50 to 100, according to some sources. I'd keep it to 50 tops and also try to spread that out over 24 hours instead of all at ones over a shorter timeframe. It helps.

if you don't send a lot of messages a day, then it doesn't matter to you.

that's right, the number of messages is very easy to test in a couple of days and see how many messages your IG account can send.
