is it OK to buy and use an already "monetized YouTube account" here at BHW and modify the channel based on my niche and start posting my short videos?
some YT gurus mentioned that a YT algorithm like this.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Depends
1) If a channel was boosted just for monetization with fake subs, likes, watch hours, etc - it's going to be a shot in the dark
2) If a channel was organically monetized in the exact or close to your niche then it's totally worth the investment

If you modify the channel niche, it can result in loss of subscribers. It is better to move to a related niche.

probably better to buy a channel thats on your niche

Yes, you can actually go for an already monetized channel. In my experience, I have seen multiple instances where this has worked for many. But surely, do a check on the record of the channel, with respect to strikes, and all such. These could lower the authority of the channel.

Depends on what you want to do with this channel, if you want a Shorts only channel, it doesn’t really matter what the previous niche was. But if you want to make next big long-form videos channel, you really need to learn all the info and smoothly move the previous audience with your type of content.

Just look up for organic accounts, that doesn’t have any copyright strikes and bots.

If you can use an old account and use same type of content will help but if you change content all the subscribers will become unrelevant and not helpfull
