Hello everyone,
7 days ago, Adsense's RPM dropped by approximately 90% and thus the income. Alarmed by this situation, having a history of over 16 months of collaboration with Adsense, I talked to Adsense Team Support. They suggested me to apply some changes to avoid "INVALID TRAFFIC". Consequently, I applied some changes such as:

  1. distancing ads from the action areas (we didn't have such a thing because we had automatic placement of ads)
  2. marking advertisements with -advertising-
  3. Additionally, I activated CloudFlare for each website where I activated Bot Fight Mode (preventive, in case certain bots that I cannot control would generate invalid traffic) and at the same time I regularly activated the firewall
  4. Additionally, I added the firewall rule from cloudflare to evaluate each connection. (cf.threat_score ge 5 and cf.threat_score le 100)

After applying what was suggested by the Google Adsense Team as well as the additional elements applied by me, the answer was "High Invalid Traffic continues". I studied the situation on Facebook groups and found other people, precisely in the same interval as mine, with the same problem.

Personally, I don't know how I could manage this situation. Please help me with ideas, advice, if you have been through something like this. I understand that Google Adsense goes from CPC to CPM, but should the decrease be so big? Could it be a system bug that I don't recognize? Is Adsense at risk of collapse with these -90% revenue drops? We have a clean history of over 16 months with them and they don't appreciate that it seems.

First of all sorry to hear that, 90% is a big drop!

If I understood this, you might have a problem with let's say "competition" sending some "bot traffic" to your website, or, am I wrong?

Someone is intentionally clicking on your ads, which sucks, and the fact that you can't do anything about it and Google doesn't care tbh speaks for itself, if they want, they could help out simply by looking at their IP address and banning it, if nothing, just from your website, simple as that.

I can't help you much, I'm not sure people around BHW could either, if I was in contact with them I would ask directly, if I'm legit, ban the IP addresses that are making all this mess.

I asked for this. and they gave me to complete the Invalid Traffic form. I completed and I haven't heard from them for more than 7 days. It seems unfair to me. In the conditions in which I show my openness to remedy the situation, they agree with -90%, assuming that they collect the difference. :-(

I have no idea how to manage the situation. I thought about replacing Adsense with an alternative, but I don't know what the next best paying advertising network would be.

I believe you, which again says that we are never safe on any platform.

But, the fact that those who have all the power and can do everything don't want to, because, what can you do?

How to find that "person" or that IP address, I mean you can, but it's detective work that they can sort out in 2 minutes.

If you change AdSesne, I think you will have the same problem, I don't know what to tell you, you can try.

You can post an explanation in HAF and look for someone who knows how to do it, but you would need someone with a lot of experience and someone who knows what they are doing.

However, it is strange how in the same data interval, several publishers, at least from my country, were affected with decreases of -70% & -90% and Google tells them the same thing "Invalid Traffic" which is strange.
