Is This Still Backmail?

You know, I forget what the site was, but basically it's a site warning other women about douchebag guys they go on dates with... at least if I remember correctly it was. Something along those general lines anyway - negative information posted about someone.

There was a lawsuit over it, but I think they won.

Anyone remember/know wtf I'm talking about?

yes, I remember something like this, but don't remember the exact details. what I remember was they won because those guys themselves had public profiles on some web pages, so that was counted as them giving up the right to privacy on the "web dating" context.

and, as for BlackHat World moderators; under Penal law, a person/entity is guilty of an attempt to commit a crime when, with intent to commit a crime, he/she/it engages in conduct which tends to effect the commission of such crime; then contributing to the commission of a crime or an attempted crime by a group creates criminal liability; aiding and abetting or accessory in the best case scenario. lol :D

BlackHat is something, but blackmail/extortion is another totally different thing guys :(

An acquaintance of mine makes a living out of this sort of thing, but I am relatively sure it is illegal if the information your threatening them with defames their character.
