Contabo is a scam, my 16Gb vm on windows server 2022 runs like a machine that is less or about 4GB of memory, I dont even think I have 4GB it is that bad, it is so slow, only the very first days I felt like I was using a 16Gb but now I am at the point where its unusable, I will probably end up destroying that VM and find an alternative.
It is 10 times cheaper than amazon aws or microsoft azure for a reason, on the paper they annihilate the competition even alibaba cloud is not even close to be able to compete against them in term of pricing.
They are cheating on ressources, I believe that their memory allocation is dynamic, it shows 16GB on the system but you dont get the 16 in reality you get much less, the more people are connecting the less you can get in memory.
If they were honest they would say "Up to 16gb of memory", "Up to 32gb of memory" ect.. and you would never get the 16gb or 32 gb anyway.
With Digital Ocean VPS you can use virtualization, but contabo on the other hand is blocking virtualization at the processor level and this is not a surprise, of course they prevent it, because the ressources that you think you have is fake in the first place, how can you do memory and cpu allocation for your VMs on a ressource that is fake ? it's not going to work, with contabo what you believe you have is one thing, but the reality of what you have is another.
What the IT industry is lacking is controllers, governements are controlling almost every industry but they are not controlling the IT industry, and a company like contabo uses that as an opportunity to get rich by scamming playing with ressources, that's what they did, they scammed and they got rich.
Contabo is the only cloud service provider that has a one time set up fee, which kind of companies usually do that ? Those who cannot retain their customers due to their low quality of service..
These suckers know exactly what they are doing and they hide very well, nobody has seen their faces even less their infrastructure..
