Hi guys,

My names Alex I'm 16 years old and have a car detailing business in Toronto.

Last season I was generating about 2k/month from 1 unoptimized GMB that was barely ranking. The market here is insane!

All I've been doing is spamming reviews, posts, products, and keyword stuffing. Nothing advanced at all.

I've managed someone elses page (carpet cleaning) and I ranked it on the map pack in 2 weeks in my city. However, I'm not able to rank in the map pack for the same amount of reach with my car detailing page.

For this season, I have made 6 different GMBs for more proximity but I cant get any to rank.

I know that there are guys on here with crazy knowledge and that do this thing for a living. I'm looking for a skilled GMB guy to give me an audit of my profile and tell me what I should do. In return I will do GMB instant verifications for you for life.

You're trying to rank in a niche where people pay SEO agencies with big budgets.

I can beat those guys but it's not going to be done with the things you mentioned.

Those companies already have established reviews from real people.

Fake reviews are no longer ranking factors.

Car detailing is usually solopreneurs who have side gigs and don't have money to spend on SEO so it's easier to beat them. I don't mean to offend by that comment but carpet cleaning companies are much bigger entities.

Is not about LMAO, @SOCOM actually made a valid point, it seems you are trying to rank something on a space where others are investing more than you ...

There are softwares that you can use where it will search for the business near your location and act like is asking for directions and actually drive or walk to your GMB, generating a great push, maybe that's what you are looking for.

Yeah but I outranked the other carpet cleaning businesses that "pay SEO companies with big budgets" so its not a problem.

And thanks for that, is that CTR manipulation? I've heard about it a bit.

Carpet cleaning and detailing are two completely different niche... But nevermind, and I think it's s form of CTR yeah, if you are on a budget download s lightweight android emulator, use location obfuscator and use s residential or mobile proxy to search for your business and move your location to the destination.

Great point. I didn't read through your post correctly enough.

In that case, great work and that's surprising to hear.

We have mobile car detailing clients, not so hard.

Yes, CTR for car detailing SEO is a big thing. You can get around that with a lot of social traffic via FB, Pinterest, and Reddit.

You could also just mass create pages, targeting the neighborhoods in Toronto as well as the suburbs around it.

I wouldn't worry too much about backlinks.

Reviews haven't been a major ranking factor for GBPs for probably 6 months, I wouldn't worry too much about those.

Think of reviews as backlinks for the GBP. Fake reviews get filtered just like spam links.

Services listed as products gets turned on and off as a ranking factor. It is currently off. For a while last year it was a negative ranking factor, so be careful there.

Thanks for the reply @lbhbochc

Do you mean clicks from the gbp to our social media links or just people randomly viewing our social media pages?

If you were me, what exactly would you do to rank? I’m ready to spam whatever I need to do 12h/day. My GBP barely ranks and its still really valuable so I’m focusing all my efforts on ranking it.

Clicks from social media over to your GBP, or the page that your GBP links to.

Pinterest ads are cheap and work well for this.

Go to Google, and do a search for your brand name + the keyword you want to rank for, your GBP should pop up.

Take that URL turn it into a QR code, put them on business cards.

When you're finished with the job, hand the customer your business card and encourage them to use the QR code to leave a review.

Also encourage them to upload pics to the GBP. Customer uploaded pics are the new reviews.

Google pulls a lot of info and ranking factors from your website. Make sure you have a page for each city and service, make sure local business schema is on there as well.

Get a few dozen reddit accounts. Make sure one is at least 30 days old and 100 karma. Use that to create your own subreddit about something like "car detailing tips". Wait 48 hours. Then start posting questions from one account about something like "how do I find the best car detailing in Toronto", and then reply from another account about how your company is the best, written in 3rd person. DO NOT UPVOTE YOUR OWN ANSWERS, use one of the vendors in the market place to buy upvotes to that answer.

Traffic from youtube is a good source of referral traffic as well, so post vids and shorts about what you do.

This is gold thank you

I will:
- Run Pinterest ads to the GBP
- Urge my customers to post a review with pictures of their car
- Find ”best Toronto detailing” Reddit threads and also create new ones so I can write about and link my business

@lbhbochc how about citations and all that stuff? Should I worry about it? I have like 1 from yelp and that’s it. And backlinks are a no right?

Yeah make sure you're getting Canadian specific citations.

Backlinks are usually good. I'd stay away from getting GSA or Xrumer links for now. There are vendors in the marketplace who do "foundational links", I'd start with those. Get them crawled with an indexer and you should see some boosts a month or so after.

Good guest posts are going to cost around $100+ USD, not sure if that would be in your budget. If not, Web 2.0s are a good and cheap option.

if you're posting in reddit threads that aren't your own, don't post a link to your site or socials, your comment will most likely just get removed. You can mention your company, just don't spam links. At least not right away. If a comment gets traction you can edit it a day or two later to include a link, but that can get pretty time consuming.

@lbhbochc

I ordered the citations, have the subreddit running, and im setting up the pinterest ads now.

How many clicks should I aim to get per week minimum?
How long until I see some improvements in my ranking?

Thank you again for the help!

Great done with GMB! I have also completed the GMB setup. I am currently working on optimizing the GMB profile for the Dubrovnik location. I would appreciate any advice on how to improve my local ranking against competitors for certain keywords.

Business is related to boat rental, please share any suggestions you may have.

Let’s fucking go!

Best month yet BY FAR and it’s not even car detailing season yet.

Big thanks to @bottingisfine and @lbhbochc

The reviews with pictures instantly moved the needle for me and they’re killing it right now

Awesome, happy I could help!

Yeah keep going with the images. For about the past 6 months user uploaded images have been moving the needle more than reviews, and I think that's how the trend is going to be in 2024
