Building starter sites for dropshipping, Shopify, blogging, whatever; and selling them on Flippa. How do most people do it? Do they use WordPress or Wix or are they using chatgpt now? Would like to learn a lot more about this.

If there's money to be made in this, I have 500+ failed sites lol I could probably make a killing.
I automate, scrape, create custom designs, and then the sites rarely move.

I doub't there's much appeal in this unless you can show that the sites are getting results.

I did this with a digital product store on Flippa and it got around 20 bids and the highest bidder was $450

I spent $150 to get the site made, $50 for flippa listing and had to go back and fourth answering questions.

At scale maybe this is good but for for a $250 profit it wasn't really worth it for me.

Was it Shopify?

Thanks for the reply. What kind of questions did they ask? Did you pretend that the sites are getting traffic? Or you sold the sites like this is a product store and thats it?

I was thinking about starting maybe 3 sites, doing SEO on them, purchasing linking building from here, so they start to gain a little bit of traffic, then selling them off.
I dont know how much you could ask for a site that has 500-1000 visitors a month, normally is a revenue multiple when you sell sites on Flippa, but since youre mentioning starter sites I think I would go about it like this!

To people who don't know what they're doing this could be extremely valuable.

There are so many people flocking to online income methods from influencers.

Dreaming but never doing...

The questions is though:

How could you put a twist on this by using programmatic methods/AI to scale?

I think that to avoid this, you need to be ultra-transparent in your ad and in what you're selling.
They'll ask you fewer questions about stats etc...

Are all your sites all AI generated and have significant content? I need a website to try my marketing methods and can't be bothered to start making content from scratch/designing and all that since i don't have the budget to invest in any. If any of them are from the niches like self-improvement, quotes & inspiration, food & drink, parenting, education and you're willing to let one go for a symbolic price let me know

@JustTakeAction said it best, just start building.

Here is what you need to know about how to do this:

1) Buy a domain, preferably related to what you are selling.
2) Start selling from that domain.
3) Treat it like a business that has to succeed or you do not eat.
4) Once the business is doing well, perhaps with 2 years of history, start looking for buyers.

The beauty of the wild wild web is you can do this over and over, with multiple projects running simultaneously. The more you run, the more refined, hopefully, you will become, which will increase your efficiency and profit margin.

Most people just take the dive and start somewhere, anywhere.

Yes, you can use WP, Wix, ChatGPT. Use every tool you ethically can to succeed.

Also, I know your topic mentions Flippa, and you mention them again in your post, but consider that there are other platforms and ways to sell then just Flippa. https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/flippa-alternatives.1600704/post-17735615

Do not overthink this. Just pick a topic and run with it. If it fails, you will probably be out less than $100 and some time. Learn from everything you do, and improve. That is how you get experience.

Good luck, and feel free to post your Journey here in BHW.

I have an idea for a game-changing online store in the DME space I need like-minded individuals with WordPress experience

About 12 years ago I did this with a website. I purchased it for $80 or so, went in and fixed a lot of things wrong with the site, but I didn’t see a big boost in traffic or ads sales. I finally listed it for sale and made about $200 profit, but the person who bought it had no clue how to manage a site, make changes etc, so I had to coach him. I don’t think it was really worth it overall.

I will say though that you can find some diamonds in the rough, such as websites that get traffic but have low sales. If you know how to properly monetize these sites you can probably do something with it.

Also you’re going to be dealing with people who have 0 knowledge on websites all day, so it may be better to use this marketplace to purchase and sell elsewhere.

Even if you found a buyer for your website on Flippa, there’s too large a chance they have buyer’s remorse when they find out how much work goes into content creation/maintenance. It’s a hard dollar to make.

many people use WordPress for building starter sites due to its flexibility and Wix is also popular for its ease of use and quick setup. ChatGPT can assist with content creation only
