How many mails / SMTP server / Domain

Hey I am slowly confused and maybe someone here has more experience.

We got back then someone who set up SMTP servers for us and we warmed up 5-6 domains. But there are a lot of different numbers around on how many emails I can send after warming up each server and domain for 30 days at least. Can someone tell me what the best practice would be? How many SMTP servers with how many domains and how many email-adresses per domain and how many emails per day? What is the maximum I can squeeze out without constantly burning the email addresses, domains and SMTP servers

Go any numbers to be on the "safe side". I know that google will mark have different rules for senders who send more than 5000 emails a day, does that play a role there? or anything else?

FYI - Lists are clean. Cold-Email to B2B, following good practices with spam words, no images, etc. - so tech stack and messaging wise I assume we got 90%+ on "really good" and also email tester gives 10/10 ratings.

You need to warm up the inboxes over time. This will also dictate whether you can send more or are blacklisted quickly. If you receive a low open and reply rate you will be seen as spam.

Once warmed up, 500 emails per day with standard gmail account and 2,000 per day with workspaces. If you send them all at once or anything that would be too fast for a human, then also expect to be blacklisted quickly.

It's a game of cat and mouse. You need decent opens and responses to not end up in spam.

Also, follow best practices, such as opt-out (ideally should have been opt-in). Unique subjects and messages. The list goes on.

Thanks for your reply but as I indicated we have our own SMTP servers so no google or workspace or whatever accounts. And as indicated our copies and best practices are in line with everything incl. opt out etc. and we are testing also then several versions etc. etc.

But the question is how many domains I should have per SMTP server

1) SMTP Server - x Domains
2) Domain - x Email Accounts
3) Email Account - x Emails/day

Because if I only have 1 smtp per domain and only 1 email account per domain and just 50 emails per day it is probably not a problem.
But having 10 domains for 1 smtp and then 10 accounts per domain and every email address sends 100 emails then this is 10.000 emails per day and that could potentially be a problem.
So asking here for some experience on SMTPserver/Domain/Account/Sending ratio so I don't burn SMTP server etc. as accounts are the cheapest and easiest to set up, domains are more effort and take longer to set-up and warm up and smtp server takes a very long time and a lot of effort to recreate

You can have however many domains on a server as you want/need as long as the server's IP is clean and reputable and your server has the resources to handle sending. 10,000 emails per day is nothing as long as you properly warm up the IP addresses and the sending domains. Sendgrid has a pretty good guide https://sendgrid.com/en-us/resource/email-guide-ip-warm-up you can read with an IP warmup schedule. I would probably scale their volume back by 10 or even 100 for your needs. The thing is, you won't find an exact recipe that works because there isn't one and everyone will have their own way of doing things. Just keep things slow and steady and you'll be fine.

I understand. I was just giving an example with gmail. The rest is applicable across the board in regards to warm up, spam, etc.

I actually set up emailing for a company that sent millions per day to schools - a trusted domain and contracted with tens of thousands of schools across the country (US).

We also worked with a company that managed the warm-up of subdomains. They all came from the same root domain. Different user accounts per.

It's not a one shoe fits all approach. It's not simple enough without more information to just say x Domains, X accounts, x emails/day

I suggest using gmail for bulk email sending and quality of inbox
