Do you know how to keep a Grindr (dating website) profile online for 2 hours a day?
I use it from the web and I realized that if the profile is not actively used it disconnects and therefore on the main Grindr screen it goes offline with the gray dot.

In order to stay online, like you said, your user need to stay active. (it's not the same as online)
Most of the apps/website will have a "Stay-Alive" or some type of configuration that determine the amount of time the user is not active and terminate the connection. Your browser could be showing you that you are connected to the website but in reality the server has already closed the connection.
Each site has is own configuration for different type of inactive states, for example watching a video will not consider as inactive.
If 2 hours is what you need for a specific website, try reading about automation and maybe one of the guides will help you.

This might not work for devices such as laptops, if it has "power saving" features. On mac atleast, this is a problem. As soon as the screen gets locked, stuffs get offline (even ssh sessions get logged out).

Could be solved by adjusting power settings, had the same problem on mac, I just disabled sleep timers so it's always online even on battery. Can't close the lid tho, haven't found solution for that yet, would be cool tho because I use some MacBooks to run automations and it would save some space if lid could be closed

Same here! What I ended up doing is purchasing a couple of Raspberry PIs for these always running services at my home. Works wonderfully well, but that's because they are nothing intense (just a few scrapers and ssh port forwards). Heavy tasks, might not work the same.

True. odroid devices from hardkernel.com beats the rpi in terms of price and performance. XU4 boards are great, they will be discontinued soon tho but they have new lines now of products too. for comparison, rpi 4 can candle 5-6 USB dongles, where XU4 can hold 40. rpis are so overhyped without much of reason in my opinion.
