Hey guys, has anyone ever seen (from any update) a website fully recover traffic and get back to where it was?

I cant ever recall seeing a site that was totally wiped out, make a recovery to pre-update levels. Has anyone see any examples?

Yeah happens all the time. Its difficult and most of the never happen for really big sites but for medium and large site it happens. You gotta find out first which update hit you and then try to recover.

You have to analyze what was the main reason your website got hit. Only after that you can take action accordingly. It can be due to content, backlinks etc.

Yep. One of our site is getting hit every other update. :D Like in one update is hit, next update recover, then hit again and so on. The website is on autopilot not much work done, and is serving as nice example that Google have no clue what they are doing either. :)

Can you share any examples? Ive not come across any that have lost 90% of traffic to gain 100% of it back, regardless of which update it was

Ive not asked what was the reason a site got hit...............Im asking if anyone has seen site fully recover

Recovery post-update is tough but doable.

I worked on a site hit by a core update; we focused on improving content depth, removing or updating thin content, and enhancing site speed and mobile usability. Took about 3-4 months, but we saw a gradual return to pre-update traffic levels.
