Can we use proxy to make purchases?

Was trying to use residential proxy to make an e-commerce purchase. Everything fine till the payment gateway, but the bank page isn't opening at all, tried different cards.

Does it have something to do with proxy protocol? I was using Socks5. Should I try HTTPs? Or the proxy providers blocking the bank pages? In that case, what's the use of proxies? If we can't make such simple purchases!

As mentioned above, some block access to banks, payment systems, etc. to prevent financial fraud but some advertise this as a use-case specifically. You should look into your proxy provider to make sure.

No, it's not with the proxy protocol unless the proxy is blocking the website access. I am doing as well on my proxies since poeple abuses it so I need to take care of the network and pool. But if they don't specify that, there shouldn't be any issues.

I am using Smartproxy Residential Proxy. I tried once more after posting the thread. This time it took me to the OTP page, but declined after that. Tried a few more times, this or some other error appeared. Most of the time it doesn't even go to the OTP page. But works perfectly with a VPN of the same targeted city!

I think you are right! Smartproxy have mentioned about blocking banking and financial activities but didn't know it includes simple ecommerce purchases!

Then why spare the ecommerce sites? They should block them as well and also block social media cause I am guessing even there you will face payment issues.

Mobile proxies are very costly, mate. Also I think if a provider has such weird rules, it will apply for all proxies.

You were right! Could not find a single legit proxy provider which allows normal purchase transactions. The card payment page doesn't open for all. What a shame! If one can not do such simple thing, what's the use of proxy, VPNs are 1000 times better!
