Is there any guide about keyword cannibalization and how to avoid them?

I have tried to understand the concept of keyword cannibalization for about 2 months and still don't quite get what exactly it is.
Is it a keyword cannibalization if two posts from a same website go for a little bit different keywords?

Let's say you are writing about gambling.
In the first article you write about "The best online casino 2024"
In the second article you write about "The best live casino 2024"
The only difference is the keyword they are going for, just judging by the title and H1 tag.
The content will be different, as the first article would talk about deposit and withdrawal and the second article will talk about live casino.
Would the posts above be competing each other?

if the keywords have the same intent it's possible to run into cannibalization, if they have different intent you won't

"live" and "online" seem synonyms in this context, so both keywords are synonyms, therefore they have the same intent, therefore you are cannibalizing if you create 2 separate pages.

Big sites media news or zillow using the cannibalization method to spread their nearly identical titles and content through multiple websites with different domains, not on the same site. Something changed now ? Yesterday I read some articles on zillow site and checked the source view and not found any canonical tag, how could that be ?

For God sake. Just focus on the quality of your post Google is smart enough to rank the page for the topic that is talking about (if worth ranking it).

I'm pretty sure too that they're part of the WEF, this organization is comprised of most obscenely rich and in-power humans, I think even Putin is / was in WEF but he didn't want to roll with WEF's agenda (stackholder capitalism, LGBTQ+, behaviour forcing, DEI, etc) and look what's happening now because of a bunch of degenerates that are so rich and powerful that they've forgot how to be human...
