Wanted to get some affiliate advice for TikTok Shop.

I have a brand that I sell on TikTok (in the supplements space). It sells very well through TikTok affiliates who promote it on TikTok Shop. But I'm wondering how to scale this.

One way to scale this is to do mass outreach to affiliates on Tiktok through the affiliate platform. The issue with this is that so many brands are probably bombarding creators' DMs that it might be hard to get many to accept our offer. And even those who do accept it might not promote the product or might not promote it as consistently.

So I'm looking for a way to have more control over the affiliate network pushing my brand. Maybe there's an agency out there who has their own in-house network of creators who are willing to promote products for a fee. Or maybe there are other affiliate networks that have a TikTok arm to push affiliate offers through there.

Would love to hear your thoughts or suggestions.

Expanding your affiliate network on TikTok is a great strategy for scaling your business. Here are some suggestions:

  1. In-House Network or Agency:
    • Consider partnering with an influencer marketing agency that specializes in TikTok. They may have an in-house network of creators who are open to promoting products for a fee.
    • Look for agencies with a track record of successful campaigns in your industry.
  2. TikTok Affiliate Networks:
    • Explore affiliate networks that have a specific focus on TikTok. Some affiliate networks have influencers specializing in different platforms, including TikTok.
    • Platforms like ClickBank, Rakuten, or CJ Affiliate might have affiliates interested in promoting products on TikTok.
  3. Direct Outreach with Incentives:
    • Reach out directly to influencers with a personalized pitch. Offer competitive commission rates and provide incentives such as exclusive discounts, bonuses, or personalized promo codes for their audience.
    • Highlight the unique selling points of your product and how it aligns with their content and audience.
  4. Engagement with Existing Affiliates:
    • Foster a strong relationship with your existing affiliates. Offer them support, exclusive content, or early access to new products.
    • Encourage consistent promotion by providing them with the necessary resources and information about upcoming promotions.
  5. Create an Affiliate Program on Your Website:
    • Develop an affiliate program on your website. This allows influencers to sign up and promote your products directly. You can provide them with marketing materials, tracking tools, and commission structures.
  6. Utilize TikTok Advertising:
    • Consider utilizing TikTok's advertising platform to reach a wider audience. Paid advertising can complement your affiliate marketing efforts and help in scaling your brand.
Remember, building and maintaining a successful affiliate network takes time and effort. Building strong relationships with your affiliates, offering competitive incentives, and ensuring that your product aligns with their content and audience are key factors for long-term success.

I think you can organize contests to make videos related to your products. Or you can look for creators with a smaller number of followers instead of large creators

Few things that I would consider to scale your tiktok shops:
1. automate target invitations and creator messages, we've found that has helped us a ton! Also still trying to figure out how DM tiktok profiles at scale because the response rate is higher
2. Can look at putting creators on retainer. There's a supposed 2000 pieces of tagged content threshold that favors you in the tiktok algorithm
3. then get people to repost the winning pieces of content to continue the virality

Solid advice! A few follow-up questions:

1. The 2000 pieces of content threshold — is this confirmed through TikTok or some major players? I’m wondering if it’s the fact that you have 2k tagged videos posted that then pushes you further in the algorithm, or that a brand would naturally get 2k videos anyway if their brand or product naturally gains traction easily and goes viral often.

2. I’ve seen a lot of ppl reposting content. Do you know how effective this is? Would getting a bunch of accounts of report your tagged videos help push you further in the algo? And would the reposted videos contribute to the 2k video threshold?

1. confirmed via some major sellers that I've met, not tiktok. Yeah i would agree with you some brands would have gone viral anyway and hit the 2k videos. On the other hand, there are those small brands that are able to get to the 2k tagged videos and then are favored in the algorithm
2. can't tag the video but you can research the tabs chocolate strategy on youtube. In the videos, he talks about how he hires creators on retainer and that helped him go viral. But i've heard he's updated the strategy and now has an army of people that repost the viral pieces of content

Interesting. so it would be worth it to have people repost videos. do you know if this works mostly on viral videos or can have all videos reposted and get some benefit from that?

I've heard the strategy used more so for viral videos but it wouldn't hurt to do all videos especially if you think it has a chance of going viral plus it gets you closer to the 2k tagged videos

i'm curious if running ads will contribute to this numbers as well. that would be great if it did

TikTok’s algorithm will do better for you if you plan on actually interacting with others on the platform.
