Linkbuilding Question

Hi,
I have a question that i have been mulling over for the last few weeks about linkbuilding.

The short backstory is that i have a site in a smaller language where it is hard to find good backlinks. Most are either linkfarms, very weak or incredibly expensive compared to what you can find in the English market. Despite this I have gotten my site to rank decently and are ranking 4 on page 1 for the main keyword by finding okay links for a low price, but here it seems to be quite a stop both ranking wise and finding more links like these. For context im in a clean niche with a comsumer product and not something spammy like casinos and my site is a long term project.

Thats why I have been thinking about if it would be a good idea to use a site like tribuneindia.com that is DA81, has millions of traffic and are used as a ranking parasite, which should mean that its a site google likes. I can also post an article with my language content there. So my thought is that one or two links like these could be the differentiator compared to my competiton. Because a DA81 guest post sure does sound tasty compared to a spammy da 20 linkfarm.

I have the same thought about decent quality .edu links, if i can find someone that can build them with my language content and make them stick.

So my question is if this is a safe thing to do, or if there are big risks involved? Has anyone tried it? What where the results?

Best regards

I've used some high DA links and .edu links as well and have never been penalized. The trick on my end is that I vary the links in a way that looks organic. Mixing lower DA with higher DA. Having a healthy mix of different domain types, and even changing the anchor text so that it too looks organic (not just making it the exact keyword every time).

The other thing you could try to do is instead of creating new articles with links, having links edited into old articles. there are paid services for this (maybe not in your language) or you could manually reach out yourself. You might look for listicles or online resource pages with broken links and ask them to replace the broken link with a link to a relevant page on your site.

Thank you for your answer!

Yes, I have been doing the same with mixing both the type of links profile, web 2.0, cloud links and guest posts. Also different DA/quality domains. Built most links to homepage with branded or naked url, and some links to the important articles but still a mix of anchors there too.
The question is more if its a risk to use my language content on those types of domains that normally have indian/english content on them? Because as I have hade some sucess and the site makes 200$ per month I dont want to destroy it.

Have looked for niche edits too, but there is the same problem as with guest posts that its very hard to find quality domains for a resonable price. Havent done much outreach myself though, so maybe thats the way forward.

Best regards
