help for newbie seo

Hi, I am new to seo optimisation, I have a lot of experience in link building. And recently I decided to do something like pet project and would like to ask a question.

What not very complicated site with not very complicated business idea to make, as this pet project? What could be a simple but quite relevant idea....

And please, if you don't mind, how would you start to promote this site (some basic key aspects).

There's a lot of ideas. But how will your site will be different from the same? After all, now there are a lot of sites and to take off on the TOP issue you need to put a lot of effort.

If you are well versed in something, then do it. Otherwise you will spend a lot of money on experts.
Well, promotion is simple: do quality, do better than others and don't forget about recommendations from other sites

define "complicated"!

Without knowing what "complicated" means for you I'd say just go for a blog-style type of website and focus on content creation around long tail keywords and when you rank you can apply to Adsense or other monetization networks that require traffic for getting in...

And this is not complicated (in the sense that you need tech expertise or to manage a lot of stuff), but it's tedious and requires ongoing effort...

A pet project you can try is writing your own blog. While it might be slightly more complicated than you want it will also help build your personal brand. A lot of seo also involves writing optimized content. So, you will also learn about that.
Some basic ways I would promote the blogs would be to post on social media accounts to get more traction. I would also do some social bookmarking for them to help them get indexed faster. Hope this help! Good luck!

Thank you for your responses! I was also thinking about creating a blog and then turning it into a brand. In my opinion, it has a chance because if you write quality content, it will be more convenient than YouTube videos (conditionally).

About the uniqueness and originality of the idea of the site I also heard, I will think about it.

Do you think that in the future there is a growing tendency that someone will read blogs, it is in Google, and not social networks?

Creating a blog is fine. But take a look at the other blogs in your niche, to see how much effort they put into their site. Don't just build according to what you think will work. Usually it doesn't! lol The best breakthroughs come with a mix of preparation and unexpectedness.

You should prepare your blog to be a good destination of content for those that want to learn about pets. Also take a look at bad blogs, where people are lazy, and not doing much to their site. They are useful too.

Next steps for you I would take to build your blog.

• Research till your 100% motivated you can kick ass against the competition. (look for all their weak spots and strength aspects)
• Pick your domain and blog, and buy a good popularly updated customizable theme for it.
• Build the site to a level that you can say it is finished. This is the stage you need to get to, before you add your first article.
• Start adding as much good quality content as possible.
• Look for ways to promote your site, (understand the difference between white and blackhat in what your doing - This can be the difference in a good site, and one that tanks)
• Keep adding content, and looking for new marketing opportunities.

One such opportunity might be long-term for you to create explainer slideshow videos about the pets and then embed them from youtube on your site, so you can potentially monitise and make use of the traffic from youtube.

Don't worry about if people are reading blogs. People still read paperbacks & newspapers/magazines! lol

What do you mean with youtube? Should I create a channel there or just run a media advert?
