I bought a Twitter account last summer. I changed password, email, phone number, Twitter handle, everything. From last autumn I noticed a strange problem.

Someone is sending messages from my account. With a phishing link in them, I guess... He always deletes the messages, right after he sends it. But the guys who received it sent me screenshots, so I could see what's happening. I tried to stop him, I changed my password few times, I had to reset my 2FA, disconnected all the active sessions, deleted cookies etc. Still nothing. Seems the messages are still being sent. I checked the IP of all the recent logins, all are mine. I don't know how he has access to my account. I also seem to follow few random accounts from time to time, without really following them, I don't know who or why is following those random accounts (0-2 per day).

I never observed any strange IP, all the logins seems to be made only from my IP. Ok, there are 2 IPs, but both are from same location. I use mobile internet from my phone. I use it as a hotspot for all my devices (including my desktop and laptop).

I used only 3 devices to log in on Twitter: my mobile phone, a desktop computer and my laptop. Someone suggested that my desktop/laptop might have been hacked. I resetted both to factory settings. Deleted everything from them, cleaned the drive, uploaded Windows again from cloud. Before that I flushed the dns, repaired Windows corrupt files in command prompt.

After both computers were cleaned, I changed the Twitter password from my mobile phone and never used Twitter on the clean devices. I used Twitter only from my phone.

After 2-3 days, messages started again to be sent from my Twitter account. So, what is causing this? Any ideas?

If my laptop/desktop don't cause the problem, is my phone hacked?

If my phone is not hacked, what else?

Is it possible like the account could have remained connected to some marketing tool, so the hacker/previous owner of the account has still access, even if I activated 2FA, changed password etc.?

Please help me, guys!

Wow! This jobs are hard bro! I might help you, but first I want to know , ¿do you use iPhone or Android?

You have a spyware on Android.
Just buy one Antivirus that cover all your devices + password manager and never save passwords to chrome/device and let the password manager to handle these for you !!!

I have Bitdefender on all my devices. Scanned them few times, I couldn't find anything suspicious.

Is your account connected to any 3rd party Apps?

Settings > Security and account access > Connected apps

My Twitter account? No. Never appeared to be connected to any apps. It was one of the first things I checked.

bad idea connecting them to apps
Currently is not shown as connected to any apps. Maybe in the past it was. Probably the old owner done that. But when I took over, there was no app connected.

Kind of weird, but if you already tried everything, I recomend you to remove your password from the samsung wallet or vault don't remember what is called, secure your Gmail account because now that the authenticator save the info and can be migrated or restored to other devices, I believe that person have access to your Gmail check it, change the passwords for everything and wait to see if it happens again.

My last password is stored on paper.

I just did a Malwarebytes full scan on my phone. Nothing found...

Tweetdeck (now only available through X-Pro) has the ability to set up "Teams", a group of accounts managed by one or several other accounts.

Your account might be a member of a team that was set up before you bought the account.

https://help.twitter.com/en/using-x/postdeck-teams
The account was not even verified when I bought it. Slim chances to be enrolled in such a team.

I believe only the managing account has to have access to X-Pro to set up a team.
Then how can I check this as I don't own the managing account (in case your theory is right)...? I mean how can I leave the team, in case my account is part of a team?

Apparently this is the way, but I can't verify since none of my accounts are members of any teams, so I don't see the "Accounts" option in my navigation bar.

It seems "Contributors do not have the ability to manage team accounts. Only admins can manage the team."

In this case I'm toasted, there's nothing I can do, I suppose?

I loged in X Pro, here's what I found. What does it mean? I'm not a member of any team? Or I still could be?
