i have a local website and would like to rank higher for some terms...can someone give me some ways that would help me accomplish that?

thanks in advance any feed back will be appreciated

Do a search on here and start reading...

You might as well ask, "I want to make lots of money, how do I do that", there is no quick one trick will fix everything answer.

So the quick noob answer is educate yourself.

OH WOW...thanks so much

nah but seriously can someone give me some actually valuable advice

The advice I just gave is more valuable then you could ever imagine.

There is no way for anyone one here to know what you have already done. Have you done keyword optimization? Are you targeting one word or many? Are they related words or are running a general site? Are you looking to do white hat or black hat SEO, you'll notice there is a section for each on here.

You're asking everyone on here to basically fix your car, when you haven't told anyone what kind of car, what the problem is, or if you even understand how your car works other than it's not doing what you want...

Just build yourself some links with keyword rich anchors, can't go wrong with that, start slowly though.

Ummmm dude seriously he was being genuine, EDUCATE yourself IS the best answer! Did you even look through the Whitehat and Blackhat SEO sections of this forum and read the sticky posts? I'm guessing not.

We are all here to help the supposed "noob" but it's a little hard when you give a shotgun question and expect something to stick.

I mean to answer your question.. how do I rank higher? Get better at SEO and pour money into services to accomplish it. Your general question is going to net general answers unfortunately.

@OP: You can avoid this kind of negative responses by asking a very specific question to a problem you have, AFTER you tried to find the answer in the appropriate forum sections yourself already.
