can links from micro sites improve ranking ?

Someone is offering me backlinks from microsite of his site
I think it doesn't make any sense to buy these backlinks because google will see that its still from "same site"
Am I right ?

if it's sub-domain and if it's good (it's indexed in Google and has decent DR and RDs pointing back to it) then it's worth getting backlink from it, especially if you can afford the price. So I wouldn't completely reject the offer, it might be a good offer, but you need to assess the situation correctly

both microsites and sub-domains can boost your rankings if they're good, so - again - you need to analyze the "microsite" (whatever this is) and then you'll know if it's good or not

I think micro sites will also supports ranking based on their domain.

google treats sub-domains as different websites, so if you get 3 links from 3 sub-domains of the same website google will think there are 3 different websites linking to you.

The only thing that matters is that the sub-domains are good, as I said earlier. You need to make sure that these sub-domains...

- are niche relevant
- give you a d0foll0w link
- are indexed in google
- have decent UR (over 20 DR I think is good, but the higher the better, obviously)
- are decent in general (no spam, no shady / adult / illegal content, good navigation and site structure, quality content, etc... just use your common sense when assessing these, have a look at the subdomain and see if you like it, as a user. If you do, chances are that the sub-domain is good and - if all of the above boxes are checked - then it's worth getting a backlink from this sub-domain)

When you get backlinks from the same site where microsite is owned by the same person google can easily find it out and sometimes google can put your website at risk of penalties.so focus on creating valuable content that attracts backlinks from other sites.
