This has already happend many times before, people wanted bitcoin to function differently in a way - what happens then is there’s a hardfork, like Bitcoin Cash for example.

Bitcoin itself will stay as it is.

1. Bitcoin will remain mined until 2140 when the reward becomes 0. At that point, The assumption is that miners would get their rewards from maintaining and supporting transactions rather than just hoping for block rewards, but who knows?
2. Bitcoin shouldn't be erased because that's not how blockchain works. It's essentially a list of holders, rather than a list of wallets and current balances.
