Honestly, I don't think it's about the OP trying to be a good webmaster. Did anyone pay attention to the fact that he said the scrapebox spammers should take the time to check what they're doing?
I think the point is that all of you using scrapebox better wise up and stop using the damn thing right out of the box. The software does most of the work for you, but it would make a bit more sense if you'd take the time to tweak things so that you're NOT WASTING YOUR TIME!
Stop being so damn lazy and come up with some comments that make sense!

Haha thanks, I've not considered an ebook, as there is one already, Scrapebox Domination, although I have never read it so I've no idea if it's any good or not.
But if there is a high enough demand for such ebook I would definitely consider writing one thoroughly. =)

Anyone who is running a serious blog of any quality, with written content and thought put into it, moderates their comments. Anyone who doesn't understand this, isn't running any quality sites.

Literally, I havn't had one spam comment since getting this plugin. And just for giggles, I made it so it would accept the comments, But send them straight to spam. Got 100's of comments within a day. Friggin crazy how much this thing blocks.

Yeah that's what I got out of the thread also. The OP isn't badmouthing people for using scrapebox at all. Just the ones that don't bother setting it up right. I don't really care that much if a comment on one of my blogs is spam. As long as it seems remotely legit, it just makes the article look like its getting more interest. Sometimes the higher comment count acts like a magnet for real comments. But if it is just crap spam it just gets deleted because if I leave it then real viewers will be annoyed by all the spam and visit my blog less.
Most of the people that say fuck you I'll blast out as much spam as I want and you should stop complaining, probably aren't getting a quarter of the return they could get with half as much spam but doing a better job of it. SB is just a tool, if you don't know how to make a comment that has a chance of sticking, all your going to do is send out a lot more comments that don't stick. Learn how to make a comment that might stick, and the tool will help you send out a lot that will stick.
I know the point of spam is that if you throw enough against the wall some of it will stick. But if the spam isn't sticky enough your just wasting your time throwing it. Try just a little bit more creativity and you could double or triple the amount that might stick, and be a lot less annoying at the same time.

I tend to think that a lot of the mass comment blasters don't understand, is that some of us have long term goals and intend to stay long term, and have been working at them for a long time already. They clearly have a quantity over quality mentality. So when they think that the 10-15 minutes a day it takes to go through a few sites and moderate comments, reply to comments, and just build the general quality of a site is a "waste of time" all it really shows is that they are a one-dimensional webmaster.
The idea that you completely automate everything, and make a bunch of money while doing nothing has really poisoned a lot of minds. While automation is helpful, a little time put towards putting some thought into your work, and a little actual effort will go a lot further in the long run.
What gets me giggling about SB, is that I receive hundreds and hundreds of SB comments a day, many of them are on unmoderated sites and are taken care of via spam plugins, but I still trim out a good 50 a day from my old high traffic blogs, and they are all the same old garbage. Not a single fucking person has put in the effort to target their comments, to try and provide a comment that might hold any hope in hell of sticking. Everybody is doing the EXACT SAME THING.
The whole $50 price tag made it way too accessible for the masses IMHO, but at the same time I can respect Sweetfunny for making the decision on setting the price point. It was the right move on their part to see the most money hit their pockets...

The OP isn't complaining about spammers and their spam. He's complaining about stupid spammers and the crap that has little chance of accomplishing anything even at a mass volume.
Any idiot can send out a bunch of spam. Most of that spam will get no result. The guy that tries to solve it by sending even more spam even though he knows it's all getting caught by moderators and spam filters is just a bigger idiot.
Real blackhatters figure out how to get the most out of the tools they use, not the idiots with a few bucks that thinks using the tool is all it takes. The blackhatter is the guy that figures out how to fine tune his system so that the spam he's sending starts slipping by the filters.
Blackhat isn't just about finding some automation tools and sending out a bunch of crap. Blackhat is about using your brain to game the system in your favor.
